Chuck 17 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I installed the Auto Box Set plugin and it identified movies that had not been manually configured with the [boxSet] folder tags supported by CoverArt. However, it also added a Collections menu item in Media Browser Classic with Windows Media Center, that only showed those items and none of the [boxSet] items. After uninstalling the Auto Box Set plugin, I'm still left with the Collections folder in Media Browser Classic. In the Web interface, the collections tab shows all of the box set items, and is now showing duplicates for the items identified by the plugin. Note, I've reconfigured the folder structure for the items that had not been set-up as box set items that were identified by the plugin. How do I remove the Collections menu item from Media Browser Classic?
Happy2Play 9781 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Do you have "Display collection view to show movie collections" checked in My Preferences? (click your icon top right)
Chuck 17 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Thanks! Setting that preference from the web client seems to have removed the Collections link in Media Browser Classic, as well as from the home page of the Web client. The collections tab in the Web client seems to still be active, and does show all box set collections. However, this tab in the web browser does have duplicates for the collections that were discovered by the plug in. Not a big deal, but a corruption resulting from the plugin, and bad plugin behavior for libraries already set up with the Cover Art folder structure where the developers may want to have a look. Let me know if you need any additional information.
ebr 16184 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 The old way of manually creating boxset folders is no longer necessary nor a documented feature and you should not try to use that in addition to the auto box sets plug-in (see the troubleshooting section here).
Chuck 17 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Thanks for the clarification. So ... I've removed all of the [boxSet] folders and have the movies all in the movies collection. And, I have the "Display collection view to show movie collections" checked in My Preferences. But now there is no collections selection on the home screen in the web browser client, or collections menu item in MB Classic in Media Browser. There is a collections item under Movies in the web client, and it's showing Home videos. These videos are in a separate library folder and have a blank collection.xml file in the sub folders.
Chuck 17 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Posted December 1, 2014 Scratch that ... large collection ... must've taken a while. It eventually picked up a couple of the collections, but I was then able to manually update to complete.
