NextPVR quality through Xbox app

Hello,

I am trying to troubleshoot an issue and I was hoping I could get some help.  Here is my setup:

- Openmediavault 7 server running Emby through docker.

- Xbox One S with the Emby app.

- Separate mini pc running NextPVR on Debian 12.

My issue is that when I run the NextPVR stream through Emby on my Xbox, the quality is really bad.  Conversely, when I use Kodi with the NextPVR plugin it looks perfect.

Is there a setting I need to use with the Emby app on Xbox or maybe in the server?  I would really love to get an all in one solution with Emby to play live TV.

Thanks.  Just to confirm, I will give you a log of playback of a channel at 1080i.  I have a file called: ffmpeg-transcode-66986f0c-53c4-412b-921c-ad7ecebb167f_1 that I got tonight.

 

There's a bunch of information on my server in there.  Is it okay to post publicly?

Okay thanks.  I finally had a moment to do this today.  It is like the 720p stream is perfect but a significant decrease in quality on the 1080 stream.

Yeah still an issue.

Playing a 1080i from NextPVR looks substandard.  When I play it through Kodi through the NextPVR addon it looks fantastic.  It is particularly noticable with sports.  It is like the ball and players can't quite move fast enough.

720 streams are nearly identical in Kodi and Emby coming from NextPVR.

Note that the streams are always being hardware transcoded.
