dorishuntt 1 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Thanks for Emby. It is an amazing platform that I am so glad that I've found. I have a suggestion to simplify authentication of remote clients. The use case is a family with a mix of devices in a range of areas. Users range in age from very young to very old, so everything needs to be simple to use. 1

adminExitium 355 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I’m not sure how feasible it is, but an option I like on other apps is scanning a QR code on a new device that is presented from an already logged-in device. It can also be used vice versa to authenticate on a new device by scanning a QR code presented on that device from another logged-in device. 1
darkassassin07 652 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Having recently installed it to have a look around; I really like the 'Quick Connect' option Jellyfin has. When at the login page for your server, you can select 'Use Quick Connect' which displays a 6 digit code on screen. You can then open any already logged in client (the app on your phone for example) and enter that code. The new client then gets logged in as whatever user was authenticated on the existing client.
