moviefan 187 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Why does this happen so often? Only way to clear the sessions is restarting Emby. 1
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Something like this has been happening for a while on the release server. The good news is that it appears to be fixed in the beta. I think I remember reading that there will be a new release fix released soon that includes the fix for this but I am not sure so some developer or more informed person may need to confirm. I had this problem with TV shows when I was running the release server but I switched over to my beta server and not once has any show or movie failed to exit at the end as it should. I am NOT recommending switching to the beta as it is somewhat hard to switch back. I have two servers, one release and one beta, so it is pretty easy for me to switch. 1
Luke 42079 Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 @moviefan Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
tenchiowo 6 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 I am also having the same issue with a lot of clients ranging from Google Chrome, Roku, and other devices showing on the now playing server. The video stream will not close on the dashboard and if it is multiple episodes that the same user has watched it will swap between those shows on the now playing view. This has been occurring for multiple days and the only way to clear the now playing area is to reboot the emby server application. I am currently running version Windows Server Version: 4.8.8.0 Attached is my current log, please let me know if you need any additional logs. embyserver.txt
moviefan 187 Posted September 13, 2024 Author Posted September 13, 2024 @LukeI've been waiting for another one to get stuck to grab the logs. Hasn't happened in the past few days. I'm sure it will this weekend. Do the logs @tenchiowoprovided help?
Gilgamesh_48 1240 Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 I have been using the beta and for the last week+ to test this I have seen zero shows get "stuck" at the end. I really think the problem I have seen with shows failing to automatically end is fixed in the beta. Even a couple of very old cartoons that got stuck regularly do not stick now. I am always open to things reappearing after seemingly fixed but, in this case, the Beta really looks to have fixed my show sticking issue. Thanks. 1
moviefan 187 Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 Couple more got stuck. Here's the server log and all of the transcoding logs that I think might be related. Archive.zip
moviefan 187 Posted September 24, 2024 Author Posted September 24, 2024 @LukeI'm not upset if you don't have the time to evaluate my issue but to ask me multiple times to provide logs and then not even download them feels slightly disingenuous. Can we just get the current beta pushed to production to resolve this?
tenchiowo 6 Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 I thought the issue had gone away but the issue is still here with version 4.8.10.0. @Luke do you need any additional logs to help diagnose the issue?
