NASMedia 4 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Hello Recently I've added a remote library to my existing Kodi setup. This was done through emby for Kodi. I now have two seperate libraries syncing to Kodi. Which is great. My problem is, because the new library belongs to a friend, there are some movies/tv shows that we both have. The duplicates are showing up my Kodi. Is there a way to remove the duplicates? Preferably the remote library ones first? Thanks for your time
Luke 42077 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 HI, if you remove duplicates, how would you ever access them?
NASMedia 4 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 Hello, I don't need to access them in this situation. My situation is that I have my own library syncing in Kodi. I just added a friends library and we both have some of the same shows/movies. I would like the option of removing (one instance) the same shows we have, so that when i browse my library from Kodi, i only see one instance of the show/movie. Sorry if i wasn't clear, I am not very computer smart.
quickmic 1703 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) I think I know what you wanr, not sure if it's possible at the moment. You want a de-duplication (with source preferences). Just checking, you use multiple Emby servers as source, right? Or native Kodi content and only one Emby instance (your friends Server)? I put it on the todo list, but that's not so easy. NASMedia 4 Posted September 11, 2024 Author Posted September 11, 2024 For a few years, i was only using my own Emby server and everything is working just fine. Recently my friend got himself setup with an emby server/unraid/kodi etc. So i added his server to my Emby next gen app in my Kodi. (where i put in my username he made for me and connected to his Emby server) From there, his library loaded into Kodi along side mine. (When viewing by tv show/movies/etc.) Sorry, i am not super computer smart....I think that means i have two Emby servers as a source at the same time? This is where i am getting the duplicates from each instance. As a short term solution, i can go through the lists in Kodi and 'remove' from my library. Just not sure if it will resync it back in over time. Thanks for your time. 1

quickmic 1703 Posted September 13, 2024 Posted September 13, 2024 I added an experimental option in 11.0.8
NASMedia 4 Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 Hello I've managed in install 11.0.8 I added one library so far. Everything's fine. Just wondering where to find the experimental option you added, and how to use it. Thank you for your time.
NASMedia 4 Posted September 19, 2024 Author Posted September 19, 2024 I managed to find the option. I selected the tv shows and movie lists. Selected my library as primary. No change in my Kodi. I restarted Kodi just in case. Still no change. Any advice?
quickmic 1703 Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Please send me a kodi.log for review. The movies should be deduplicated if name and the year are identical.
