ATV player not working with airplay: bug or ?

When using the ATV player, I want to airplay the sound to other airplay speakers, when I configured this, the movie or tv show is just frozen and does not want to play. Does anyone else have this issue?

I got to play more with this, the TV Shows work fine but each time I tried it with a movie, the movie just froze and does not start playing.....

Same with Home Videos and the other media, all work but not the movies... Very interesting bug here....

Hi there, how exactly have you been activating airplay?

Sure, you go into ATV control center, select airply to other sound receivers, and select the ones you want to use with the ATV, as soon as you do this and try to play the movie, it is frozen, I tried five different ones, they all froze, working great with Plex, apple TV app or Infuse, only emby does not work...

I upgraded to TVOS 18 and still the same issue with movies only, everything else works fine but movies are stuck for whatever reasons... 

Can you give me an update here please?

Are you using air play with the screen mirroring method?

No, you start the movie or TV show or whatever media on the ATV, you do a long press to start control center. 
Once you are there you select audio to choose the speakers you want to audio to be played on. 
The bug is that if you do that with any movies it freezes everything in the emby player. It works with other media. 
Just try it please

He means the audio menu on the Apple TV. You can airplay audio from the apple tv to other airplay receivers using the control center menu on the Apple TV or from control center on an iPhone. However, I just tried this myself with tvOS 18 and emby 1.9.0 and it appears to be working. I played a movie and used airplay to send to several HomePods around the house, and I was able to hear the movie audio on all of them.

OK let me try with the latest release, maybe this has been fixed since I opened this topic....

OK, it is a bit better as it starts playing, but after sometime, the sound stop playing and eventually the video freezes. So this is still not working.

This is even worse if you try to airplay to more than one speaker.

It does not seem to be a TVOS issue since with Plex it just works no issues whatsoever, same with any other players I tried, TV app, Paramount+, Netflix, etc....

And now it got worse unfortunately as even other media such as TV shows, etc.. have the same issue.

So there is definitively a player issue with ATV...
