How to choose TV Shows metadata source of truth?

For some TV Shows the metadata is different between TVDB, MovieDB, IMDb, AniDB, and therefore you want to be able to choose the one which is accurate, can someone explain me how to do this on a TV Show basis please?

A good example of this is actually, Dragon Ball 1986, https://thetvdb.com/series/dragon-ball#seasons, https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/12609-dragon-ball?language=en-US, etc. the source of truth on this one is moviedb, but it is not working if you let emby work....

For some other shows, you will find the same discrepency, and it might be that tvdb will be the source of truth.....

The provider settings in Emby are per library.  The only way to get around this is to change the setting temporarily to the provider you want, force a metadata refresh for that show only, then lock the metadata before switching the provider back to the default.

I suppose in principle you could have separate libraries for shows you want to use each provider with, but that would be a right pain in general...

There's probably a feature request thread for overriding the metadata provider on a per-show basis.  If so, support it.

Yep definitely a feature request as there are so many TV shows that are all over the place in these different databases, just amazing... This feature should not be that difficult to do btw....

Yes, having a way to lock a particular episode to a particular metadata source would be very helpful.
