clhdjckbjjzjbvbek 2 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I installed Emby server on raspberry pi os (debian) and on my network its working properly. I added my email to (Optional) Emby Connect email address I also have this configuration checked: Allow remote connections to this Emby Server I turned off the wifi on my phone and tried "Sign in with Emby Connect" Entered the mail and password, and it just returns me to the previous screen (select server) I would mention that I had Emby server previously installed on an Android device, and had no issues at all connecting from outside my network without any additional configuration. how can I resolve this issue?
Luke 42077 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Hi, that's strange. I would try redoing this part: Quote I added my email to (Optional) Emby Connect email address By removing it, saving, and then adding it back. Please see if that helps. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Have you verified via a online port checker like canyouseeme.org or any other that Emby ports are open? Do you know if your ISP is a CGNAT? https://emby.media/support/articles/Remote-Setup.html

I got a confirmation mail and I approved (attached) I also tried with incorrect password, and got a message saying its a wrong password. so I'm confident the mail and password Im providing are valid, but stil it just take me back to the "select server screen" what else can I do? @Happy2Play I'm not familiar with networking so much.. but I do know that an Android Emby server was able to stream outside of my network, and it used the exact same WIFI.
Luke 42077 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Is your server listed on the server selection screen?
clhdjckbjjzjbvbek 2 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 yes, but only with the local address (10.100.102.13:8096), which is not accessible outside the WIFI I ran on my server: netstat -lntu | grep 8096 the result is : tcp6 0 0 :::8096 :::* LISTEN I got very little knowglede in network, so I'm not sure if it's valid
clhdjckbjjzjbvbek 2 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 yes, it couldn't connect. now what I did is remove all servers from my phone, and connected with Emby Connect it found the server, but this is the error I get when I click on it: of course it's up and running and no issues from local network
clhdjckbjjzjbvbek 2 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 I would mention that Im also not able to connect using the Remote (WAN) access that is listed on the dashboard. it will result in an error saying: Unable to Reach Server We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. please ensure it is running and try again I enabled port forwarding on my router:
Luke 42077 Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 HI, does your ISP allow use of the port? Have you checked to see if they use a CGNat?
clhdjckbjjzjbvbek 2 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 ok I was finally able to get it to work. Im not sure exatcly how, but suddenly the emby connect was removed from my user. Then when I put it back in it worked. Thank you for the help 1
Luke 42077 Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 Quote but suddenly the emby connect was removed from my user If you were signed into an Emby app and then deleted the server from the server selection screen, this would also remove it from your Emby Connect account. So that could be why that happened.
