aberthil 10 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Instead of using the search engine, is there a way to use the file embedded metadata for some specific movie or TV Shows?
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Would need an example but Emby does prefer embedded data as I had to nuke lot of embedded mp4 data as it was getting all the cast and crew info wrong.
aberthil 10 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 I have all my mp4 files with embedded metadata which has been retrieve from moviedb and tvdb already, so it would be good to use this data to make my life easier. Also I have some home TV shows and Home DVDs that for sure are not referenced anywhere but I spent a lot of time defining the metadata in these, so would be greast not to have to rewrite everything I did already if you see what I mean
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Pretty sure you can disable provider and Emby just read the embedded data. But been a long time since I have tested this as online search is less work.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 With disabled providers Emby read the embedded info. As you can see from the overview and the wrong genre format. But yes if providers are enabled online data can replace embedded data as technically there is a lot of missing data as I did not include cast as it is always in the wrong format.
aberthil 10 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 Very good, now let me ask, how did you disable the providers for this particular movie? As you know I want it to be on a case by case basis.

aberthil 10 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 Got it, not a good option here, hopefully this could be added in a future release.... 1
