Rocktec G2 gets recommended on the Kodi Forums. The N100 will pass through everything with LIbre Elec, but can't do DV due to lack of license?. I personally don't know if Kodi can pass through DV on windows. Would be nice.

Funny you come up with this.

Today i read this article..., it seems the xiaomi is even better... although not much ram

Xiaomi TV Box S (3e generatie) komt als beste uit de test tegen Google TV Streamer en RockTek GX1-streamingboxen - Notebookcheck.nl Nieuws

I would love to  see it compare to  shield...

Anyone has this device?

It supports HD Audio which is a win but I wonder if the 2gb of ram will hold it back. No Lan port is a bit of a bummer too. A usb adapter adds to the cost.

According reviews  its enough, although anno 2025 its very low.

But hey, if its enough then  its enough

If one would have, ill be interested in reviews

For the price you'd be better off to get a Shield. Unit doesn't have DTS support apparently and has issues with changing frame rate. At this rate I think we need to wait for a Shield 2. Let's hope Nvidia releases one with some broken Switch 2 boards haha.

Hi, that review is pretty comprehensive and I wish I had the time to do something like that! But it is out of date as it's talking about the initial release when it was on Android 11.

Android 12 ironed out 'most' of the issues with Build 7954 being the most stable in my opinion. All the HDR and sound formats I tested worked except DTS X but there was a massive issue with multichannel pcm.

There are some Android 14 builds out now which now support both DT Master HD and DTS X (just tested some clips now), it also support both Dolby Atmos formats and frame rate switching works in streaming apps that support it as well as in Kodi and Emby apps. Of course I know there are  always special cases and some of us are more sensitive to judder/stuttering.

Unfortunately I don't have a Dolby Vision capable display so I've never tested that aspect of it.

So you can confirm all audio formats work now on android 14?

Sorry I thought I had replied to this, all the sound formats play fine for me, including Dolby Atmos/DTS:X. If there’s a particular you want me to test let me know.

Windows 11 2H2 has brought DV playback to windows. No point in getting an Android box unless you have paid subs with Netflix or Disney+, etc as they do not allow 4k on a PC.

@RanmaCanadajjust picked up an onn 4k pro & the box played everything i threw at it including pgs subs. Every audio & video codec were direct stream. Plus it looked like the picture quality was great. When I plugged in & setup it did that big upgrade everyone was talking about. Im gonna try a different launcher I read about in how tweak this box but I have to say it looks better then my fire tv. I.am still interested in looking into a n100 or n150. Researching air remotes.
