We thank (and expect) everyone to adhere to those. They will be re-posted here as a refresher, for a limited time. Thanks. darkassassin07 652 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 There has to be a better way to get information to forum users than pinning 5-12+ posts to each active sub-forum.... Notifications, forum-wide mail, a newsletter... Anything? Even if you were to pin a single moderated/locked post, which then contains links to relevant content/posts (such as the array of tutorials that are pinned all over the place). There's so many pinned posts right now that pinning something has become meaningless. I almost missed this one myself because of the muscle memory I've built; automatically scrolling past the wall of pinned posts to get to useful info, then pressing back and marking the sub as read when I'm done. This place is a mess, and a pain to scroll through all the time. It's just getting worse and worse.
GrimReaper 4739 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 We are working within the confines/limitations of forum software. Some features are feasible, some others aren't. And some require custom modifications. Due to recent update, number of existing ones have been removed and are slowly being reintroduced again. But your comments have been noted and will be discussed internally. Thanks

GrimReaper 4739 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 Just now, TMCsw said: Please clarify; I need Prior approval to post a link to free or useful info/software? No. That paragraph refers to "Self-promotion"; if you were posting links to your own business/website - then it would require it.

That simply a footer together with themes/languages select, not pinning, we had that it for years but adding to the footer from a year or so now, but recently we re-write it to make it clear for all. 41 minutes ago, darkassassin07 said: Notifications, forum-wide mail, a newsletter... That your opinion, we over the years been adding many things to make browsing/bosting very clear and simple to our members. To all, our mod's team here simply post a reminder about our rules that many do not care to read about, and this pinned thread will stay temporary for this matters, the footer always to make thing easy to find about the community or Emby services in general.
