gogginguy 4 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 (edited) One of my servers shows my icons for Libraries, but all of the contents are suddenly empty. "Scan Library Files" doesn't update anything. The screenshot below shows three paths, the first two are original and contain content, yet none of the content is showing in the Library. When I added the third path (identical to the 2nd path), it found and added the single movie in that folder. Running 4.8.8.0 I wouldn't know what pertinent logs to send, given this behavior. (Please move this issue to Linux server -- unless there's a way for me to do it) Edited September 4, 2024 by gogginguy
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Probably need to see the server log. Not sure if adding same path will do more harm than good though. Assuming there are no errors in the log usually only happens on new libraries but may need to toggle Access and Parental controls on that specific user. And maybe all users if more than one is affected.

I added it to the second (duplicated) path and it was found.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Minus something in your server log for the paths it is impossible to say.

Not sure as it could be something stuck/broken per those options as I have created new libraries to only have it show via library setup and no where else. But yes you issues sound slightly different but suggest something broken in the database and the user. Can you test creating a new test user?
gogginguy 4 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 (edited) New user has the same issue. And why would the old/new user have permissions on some files and not all the files? The test files were picked at random, so it wouldn't be any file attributes. 1. The path/file locations haven't changed and are present. 2. Duplicate path/file locations deliver as expected. 3. It's not the user. 4. It's not the attributes on the files. 5. Parental/Access are full/appropriate. Has anyone experienced this behavior after upgrading to 4.8.8.0 which happened 2 months ago, but I did not confirm that the titles were there anytime after the upgrade. I might have, but I can't be sure. Is there a setting which would force "Scan" to consider all paths and titles regardless of flags/state? Edited September 5, 2024 by gogginguy new question added
Luke 42077 Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Hi @gogginguyhave you updated to Emby Server 4.8.10? Has that helped?
gogginguy 4 Posted October 16, 2024 Author Posted October 16, 2024 First, no I haven't upgraded. I did not find a graceful way to do this, so I had to cobble-together backup files from a month ago and do I restore and they all came back. Then... It happened again last week, and I had a restore again to get them back. At first I thought this was due to librariy locations "sharing" with other servers and eliminated that practice, but with it happening again, I believe this wasn't the cause. I'm guessing this is a somewhat acute occurrence. I will be upgrading soon and see if that solves anything. Is there reason to believe this is a version issue?

Also can you please list out how many Emby libraries you've created, along with the folder paths that are added to each one? Thanks !
