1080p4me 17 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I got the same issue all the sudden all my tv shows are categorized under Scream. What gives? Running version 4.8.8.0.
Luke 42079 Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Hi @1080p4mecan you please show us a specific example of your issue? Also how are your files named and organized? Thanks !
1080p4me 17 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 I got it fixed. 1 HDD for TV pointed to the root of the drive. 2 folders "4K TV" and "TV" all seperate folders for each show with subfolders of Season 01, Season 02 etc. The TV folder was messing up grouping everything as Scream while the 4k was normal. This just happened out of the blue. I deleted meta data forced a scan and same thing with the grouping. It wasn't until I removed the entire library and re-added the same path as the root of the drive till it corrected itself.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 So, if I read you right, you have a library pointing at the root of the drive, and others pointing to folders on the drive? Having one library using a subfolder of another is not supported, and will lead to problems, sometimes requiring the whole database to be trashed and rebuilt (after fixing the unsupported structure). Paul
1080p4me 17 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 No that is incorrect. 1 HDD for TV shows & 1 HDD for movies. The TV library points to the TV drive itself which has a 4K TV folder and a TV folder. In no way are multiple libraries linked to the same path twice or overlapped. Removing the library and re-adding the exact same path worked for the scan while deleting metadata and rescanning at least 6 times kept putting everything in the TV folder as Scream but the 4K content it found the proper titles on.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Then the issue is likely to be the naming within those folders. Do you follow Emby's preferred structure of a folder per show, containing a folder per season, containing the episodes? When I first started using Emby I didn't read the guidelines, and all my shows got identified as Mr Bean. So I changed the naming and organisation of my files to be as Emby suggests, and all has worked essentially perfectly since then. Paul
1080p4me 17 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Yes they are. If you delete a library and re add it it shoild have the same effect as deleting meta data and rescanning I would think. I use sonarr very popular and it does seasons and naming very well.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Then I guess the devs will want to look at server logs to see what's going on. Paul
