crusemm 1 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 I am brand new to Emby. I am running Emby in a docker container on Unraid. I have enabled hardware transcoding using an nvidia GPU. I have an IPtv stream and EPG configured. I am able to watch the stream on the web interface. when I log into the emby app on the roku, I can see the channels, select a channel to play, but after that it hangs and will not play any of the streams, just buffers. I can see it trying. it will display 33%, clear, then display 28%, clear, then nothing ffmpeg-transcode-35699fd0-d54a-45d7-9688-4afcc7675063_1.txt embyserver.txt
ebr 16169 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 Hi. It looks like ffmpeg is having a lot of trouble with this stream. @softworkzany thoughts?
crusemm 1 Posted September 3, 2024 Author Posted September 3, 2024 (edited) Another piece of data. I have multiple roku devices. Some are Roku Ultras (not sure what year) that are connected with ethernet, and some are Roku TV's, TCL brand. The roku TV's are a mix of etehrnet connected and wifi. My original testing was on one of the roku ultra devices (ethernet connection). On at least one of the Roku TV's (ethernet connection) I was able to get the stream to work. I have not tested on any of the other TVs or roku devices. Edited September 3, 2024 by crusemm

speechles 2055 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 (edited) How many concurrent uses of that stream do you get? You might be hammering it with different devices too often and they think you are trying to be funny. They might purposely refuse to serve the stream depending on how many devices are streaming with your credentials. They are trying to protect their copyrights and resources possibly? 2024-09-02 17:06:55.337 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 206 to host3. Time: 2ms. crusemm 1 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 @speechlesI'm not sure what your saying, and I definitely don't see what you are trying to show me. When I was trying to get the IPTV working with Plex/Threadfin I know there was some kind of ffmpeg adjustment I had to make. Do I need to do that here? and if so, what do I need to do? I had to add the line : -hide_banner -loglevel error -i [URL] -c:a libmp3lame -vcodec copy -f mpegts pipe:1 to the Threadfin setting : Path to FFmpeg binary. Do I need to do something like that here? embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7e035b50-1ea3-41f3-acdd-73caa155c0bb_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-35699fd0-d54a-45d7-9688-4afcc7675063_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-958a189c-9e40-4126-abbb-8a41b5dd7e36_1.txt

crusemm 1 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 New wrinkle, I tried adjusting the playback settings on the Roku ultra I started with. I can start the stream, it has the spinning circle with26% in the middle, and the server shows it as playing, but it never finishes loading. Also, on the Unraid dashboard, I can see that Emby is using the GPU for transcoding. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d200a709-26e8-403d-b464-ee9946b373f5_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-4fd4eca5-1839-44dd-8123-8e10f847ffd1_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-3eb12505-1e04-469e-8bdc-c9c9ae19440c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2962c086-5d3a-4817-bfc5-a0a190dacc63_1.txt
crusemm 1 Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Anyone have any ideas? I'm about to throw in the towel here.
crusemm 1 Posted September 5, 2024 Author Posted September 5, 2024 I canget this to work on my PC, on my phone, and an onn google tv player. It doesn't work with any of the roku devices. I can get as far as the guide, but none of the streams play.

The issue is occurring on the server with ffmpeg when trying to transcode. Have you changed anything with the ffmpeg install or installed the diagnostics plugin and changed any settings there?

No, I didn't know that was an option. I will try that next

crusemm 1 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 No, hadn't adjusted anything. currently I have no solution. I gave up on the Roku player and purchased a couple of android TV boxes from Walmart. that app works.
