fletchermops 0 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Hi I'm testing the Parental Control function with latest stable release and filtered on only FSK-6/TV-PG media. This works pretty well, but it's not perfect for my use case because it shows series like Desperate Housewives etc. but the user should only see child friendly content like animations, cartoons or family friendly stuff. There is an option to filter with tags but I have to set the tags manually on all movies and series metadata. My database is way too large to do this Is it maybe possible to filter on genres (Animation, Family, Kids) in future? Is there a way to set all genres automatically as tags too? It would be great if this user could not see all directories from non TV-PG content under "Directory"-Tab in Movies or Series Library:

What rating does that show contain in your library? Edited September 1, 2024 by GrimReaper

What rating does that show contain in your library? It has TV-PG. The rating comes from one of these external databases automatically i guess:
GrimReaper 4740 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) @LukeGerman FSK-6 should not have weight 5, IMHO: LoadRatings("de", new[] { new ParentalRating("DE-0", 1), new ParentalRating("FSK-0", 1), new ParentalRating("DE-6", 5), new ParentalRating("FSK-6", 5), new ParentalRating("DE-12", 7), new ParentalRating("FSK-12", 7), new ParentalRating("DE-16", 8), new ParentalRating("FSK-16", 8), new ParentalRating("DE-18", 9), new ParentalRating("FSK-18", 9) }); same as TV-PG does: LoadRatings("us", new[] { new ParentalRating("TV-Y", 1), new ParentalRating("APPROVED", 1), new ParentalRating("G", 1), new ParentalRating("E", 1), new ParentalRating("EC", 1), new ParentalRating("TV-G", 1), new ParentalRating("TV-Y7", 3), new ParentalRating("TV-Y7-FV", 4), new ParentalRating("PG", 5), new ParentalRating("TV-PG", 5), new ParentalRating("PG-13", 7), new ParentalRating("T", 7), new ParentalRating("TV-14", 8), new ParentalRating("R", 9), new ParentalRating("M", 9), new ParentalRating("TV-MA", 9), new ParentalRating("NC-17", 10), new ParentalRating("AO", 15), new ParentalRating("RP", 15), new ParentalRating("UR", 15), new ParentalRating("NR", 15), new ParentalRating("X", 15), new ParentalRating("XXX", 15) }); Both TV-Y7 and TV-Y7-FV which are theoretically higher rated have weight of 3 and 4, respectively. FSK-6 should be lowered. Regardless of that, @fletchermops, I'm unsure how you ended with TV-PG there, might be an erroneous entry in provider db, as it appears that it was rated FSK-12 in Germany/TV-14 in the US. Yes that would key here as both TVDB and TMDB show TV-14. 1 hour ago, fletchermops said: Is it maybe possible to filter on genres (Animation, Family, Kids) in future? I am guessing you mean parental controls to only show said genres. I would say a Feature Request. 1 hour ago, fletchermops said: Is there a way to set all genres automatically as tags too? Automatically not that I know of but potentially manually with plugin like Bulky. Edited September 1, 2024 by Happy2Play 1
fletchermops 0 Posted September 1, 2024 Author Posted September 1, 2024 FYI: I checked my settings for the series "Monk" because this series is TV-PG in my library too and my metadata settings for the library. The only metadata grabber I configured is "TheTVDB". On TVDB the ratings are wrong... Several episodes of Monk AND Desperate Housewives are rated as TV-PG. Wtf...

Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) Issue like this will require manual intervention adding custom ratings or setting official rating to what you believe they are. TV is little difficult as normal there is no rating per episode and inherit from Show level but now it is really mixed and needs applied to every episode. Will look as there are some script/tools post on the from for updating this issue. Edited September 1, 2024 by Happy2Play 1
fletchermops 0 Posted September 1, 2024 Author Posted September 1, 2024 I've changed my grabber for series to movieDB and I replace all my series metadata. This should solve my problem for now hopefully.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 There sometimes is not an easy fix as it will all come back to you validating correct info as sometime TVDB and TMDB will have totally different info for the same Series/Show. To a point wish dev would make show level providers options.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) Looks like the issue with Monk would be it was re-rated at some point. Sorry, I showed you the wrong Housewives as TVDB has them as TV-PG and TMDB has them at TV-14. But as Grim showed should some not all may be TV-PG per the IMDB guide. But shows that have ended may run into issues like this and sites may not allow you update them and may have to apply manually or change providers if possible. From a parental controls standpoint there is a lot of double checking on your part as Provider data is never perfect. Edited September 1, 2024 by Happy2Play

So you think it should b be 4? You think it's less than PG?
GrimReaper 4740 Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Yes, at least 4 - if not 3, since, as said: TV-Y7=3 TV-Y7-FV=4 But either would work. 1
