Subtitles placement

Are there any plans to allow subtitles to be played where they normally are in every other media player?, ie at the bottom of the screen rather than directly over the picture which is what it currently is. Thanks.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue.   

Subtitles are shown at the bottom of the video by default - unless the format of the subs specifies a position.

Okay I've attached a screenshot showing that emby plays subtitles on the actual movie rather than in this black space below as all other media players do

So is this how the subtitles are supposed to look on Emby?

Yes. I don't really know why they've made the only placement choice to be subtitles that are on the picture, which both spoils the picture and makes the subtitles harder to read.

HI, more options to control the subtitle position are certainly possible for future updates. Thanks.
