mchahn 22 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I just saw the message "Please restart the server to finish applying updates". Will this affect my server version number? If so I need to know how to disable the update. I cannot go to a higher version because I cannot stand the new UI that doesn't show all the episodes in a series. Not having future and missing episodes in the list is a deal breaker for me. My version says "Version 4.8.0.47 beta". I don't remember signing up for beta but I probably did. I'll back up verything so I can switch back but that woud be a pain. Is the automatic update a beta feature? Can I switch back to non-beta with the old version?
Q-Droid 989 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Check your dashboard. More info is needed here because the current stable release is newer than your beta. The emby server doesn't update automatically on Linux as the runtime account doesn't have the elevated privileges needed to install the software. This message is usually tied to plug-ins which do update automatically. Docker can change things a bit but still need more info.
Luke 42077 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 The message could be a plug-in update, server update, or a settings change that requires a restart. If you’re still on that old beta then you can move back to stable by installing 4.8.8 over the top. But only if you haven’t updated to 4.9.
mchahn 22 Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 > The emby server doesn't update automatically on Linux Good news. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Installing plugins, plugin updates, or server updates trigger that notification. If you think it is server update look in the updates folder for server version update package. But as mentioned Alerts on Dashboard should tell you why.
mchahn 22 Posted August 30, 2024 Author Posted August 30, 2024 Ah yes. I didn't notice the update alerts. It's just tvdb and moviedb. Thanks again.
