PuffyToesToo 346 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Now that Recently Released Movies is part of Emby, it shows movies by release date. is there a way to choose the date added instead, that I am not seeing? Thank you.
Neminem 1519 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I think that list is sorted by Release date. So if you want alter that change release date. I have observed it setting Cinema release date. But why is that the default, I can't buy the movie on disk before Physical release date ?

I'll add this as a feature request as well. 1
Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Just like the comment in FR why as Latest row is already date added? 1
Lessaj 467 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Recently Released Movies will order by release date, as the name implies. Latest Media will order Latest Movies by recently added, depending on the "Date added behavior for new content" setting. It sounds like you want Recently Released Movies to also contain this behaviour but that doesn't make sense when Latest Media already does that. 1

But for me and at least some other people I know, we like to separate New Releases from newly added library items. I may go out and grab a few DVDs of older movies, and don't want them confused with New Releases. I don't want to trudge through 5-10 items of 90s movies to find that New Release.
Lessaj 467 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 In that case you have to have both added to your home screen.

Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Sort of completely defeats the purpose of Release Date Row.
Luke 42079 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I wouldn't suggest messing with the release date data to achieve this. Then you won't be able to use that field for the purpose that it's actually meant for, and seeing the wrong years may confuse you or others at times. And then it may also cause problems with metadata lookups, because that year may end up being used in search queries. 1
