MediaEmby1968 47 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Hello.. Since Saturday I have been receiving a message in the Samsung app that there is a new version. In this post the same version continues to appear and since the download file is always called tizen.zip. Could you confirm if a new version has already been released.. And why does the message appear if the new version is not yet available? Thanks https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/31461-emby-for-samsung-smarttv-release-notes-tizen-orsay/

Thanks https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/31461-emby-for-samsung-smarttv-release-notes-tizen-orsay/ The app doesn't really check to see if there is a newer version, it's more a warning that the app will be expiring soon. It's programmed to automatically start showing up as a warning before expiring so you aren't surprised when the app no longer works when you sit down to watch something. It just so happens that a newer version is usually uploaded by the time the warning starts showing up. You can always check if there is a newer version by going to GitHub and checking the date there (just remove the filename from the download link). If you click on history, it says the last commit was on 27 July. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/tree/master/tizen Hopefully, @SamES or @Lukecan recompile it soon though since it looks like we are almost out of time. 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 It could probably be worded differently because this question gets asked often. "This app is about to expire. Please check to see if a newer version is available before it expires". A date it expires on might be nice too if possible.
MediaEmby1968 47 Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 Don't worry Luke.. I was just asking because when you go out and you're not there and you also don't know how long the application waits for it to stop working... well, it's better to ask. Thanks, I've already seen it.. download and install it. As for what FrosByte says, I agree that it would be better. Regards 1
