kurtgschumacher 36 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Emby does not handle Windows paging keys (Home, End, Page Up and Page Down) in a standard manner, if it handles them at all. If you press Home on any page except the Home page, it takes you to the top of the Home page. Page Up, Page Down, and End are ignored. And on the Home page itself, the Home key is ignored, so if you've been scrolling down the home page and want to get back to the top there's no way to get there other than scrolling back up. I can't think of any good reason for it to work this way, it runs counter to standard user interface design. Please provide an option to let users choose standard paging. I think this needs to be an option so that people who have gotten used to the way it works now won't get an unpleasant surprise if it changes.
Luke 42079 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Hi, other than your comments about the home button, they all seem to be functioning just fine in my testing. What app and device are you testing with?
Lessaj 467 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 I think I see what they're saying. In the web app if I click on, for example, my Movies library and press page down, instead of paging down it either does nothing or it's moving to the last letter of my alpha picker. This behaviour depends on where the blinking cursor is, which I've noticed in my web browser for quite some time outside of text entry boxes but I'm not really sure why and it's never bothered me to try to look into it. It can be moved by clicking on different parts of the page. If I click anywhere under the banner then paging works. Running Chromium Version 127.0.6533.99 (Official Build) Arch Linux (64-bit). Some screenshots of the blinking cursor, when I click on Movies it's usually placed here (after 1399 items) but page down does nothing. If I click to the left of that, paging works normally. If I click to the left of Movies, when I press page down it goes to the end of my alpha picker. Is this also what you're seeing @kurtgschumacher?

But I don't think I've ever clicked on a blank space on the page. I either scroll with the mouse wheel or the scroll bar and then click on a movie. I just tried clicking on a blank space on the page and then paging does work. So apparently Emby does have logic to handle the paging keys, but only after you click somewhere. It needs to do that without me having to click on the page, because that's just silly.
Luke 42079 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 HI, we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.
