Albums Not Correctly Named

Because the genres and tags are not updating at all for these selected albums. I even went ahead and updated a random artist to see if Emby just isn't pulling data and it was able to pull and add the artist description from TheAudioDB, so it's almost like it'll update some files but not all for some reason.

Did you check the values at the track level in Emby server? Do the tracks have your tags? That’s where they get set.

Just checked, and there was nothing in the genre values for any of the tested tracks.

I just added some new artist data on TheAudioDB and Musicbrainz on a separate artist and it updated everything just fine so I'm at a loss.

I had temporarily renamed them to random album names within Emby, but even after deleting the files completely and redownloading them they had my edited album titles despite not locking the titles, refreshing metadata and rescanning the library as well as removing identification and replacing it.

If you haven't done this already, Perhaps you could try creating a mini "Music Test" library for troubleshooting? This could perhaps bypass any non-updating of your Emby database? It could also be quicker to troubleshoot, easy to delete and start again and you won't accidentally mess up your main music library!

I've found that Emby doesn't always update the music tag/genre info if you rescan/refresh from the 'wrong' place within Emby. My best success has been to go into the Folder tab, within my music library, and rescan the specific folder required. It's also faster to update and check this way than rescanning your whole library each time. Even then, I have, at times, needed to manually delete incorrect genres within Emby to get the correct renaming - not always, just sometimes.

Also note, there are some specific characters that Emby won't update from your embedded data, e.g, capitalisation, type of brackets.

When this causes problems, I just manually edit the info within Emby to match the updated embedded metadata.

If you edit your files make sure to run a library scan after doing that.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening, though?

Hi, did you try what he suggested?

He didn't comment on that specific problem, though.

Sadly neither of these suggestions worked. The library is still updating other new music I add, just not these two for one reason or another.

How are you determining that?

Because I've been adding new items on Musicbrainz and TheAudioDB and it's updating the new stuff just fine.

So I think I found the problem, Emby just doesn't want to update KENMORE Classic or the other artist I'm having trouble with. Unlike others it won't download images from TheAudioDB.

Going to have to be more specific

I mean I can update all other artists and it will update the metadata, images and overviews, but it will not update KENMORE Classic or u v . e x e

I can potentically see issue with this one but would have to test.

As for KENMORE Classic minus something in the logs I can't say as I have not seen a issue.

Are you writing nfo files also?

I am not writing nfo files, should I be?

no it is personal choice as 99% of all data is embedded on media.

Man I don't know why I always seem to have issues. Anyway, if you want to test it, those u v . e x e releases are available on https://miamipalm.bandcamp.com/

平和を希求 was added as 平和を希求:????? until I manually renamed it.

Well then I guess there is just something wrong on my end that just refuses to let them update.

Not sure why audiodb show a image when searched

image.png.0637bbf4493f0cc3badae3fb2ba437cd.png

As theaudiodb just vanished for me.

image.png.74d35ddc000c3f611e29d39aad2a2c58.png

So it maybe a site issue but not sure.

Will guess a cached image from previous search.

Minus zipping and pming the tagged files you are using I have not seen an issue tagging the same media.  Most of my tests were with flac but did test the one album in wav format tagged with Picard.
