Kerros 3 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Hello All, I'm currently running a TrueNAS and wanted to let Emby use my GPU for hardware acceleration. Verified that TrueNAS does detect my GPU. Emby does not when trying to "find it" by looking at the hardware acceleration advanced options (none pop up for hardware). After reviewing the hardware acceleration documentation (https://emby.media/support/articles/Hardware-Acceleration-on-Linux.html), I worked my way over through to Nvidia's FFmpeg installation guide for Linux here: https://docs.nvidia.com/video-technologies/video-codec-sdk/12.2/ffmpeg-with-nvidia-gpu/index.html Sub-question: I'm installing this on my main shell and not the Emby Jail. Is it supposed to be installed on the Emby Jail? Stuck on the second step where you install the ffnvcodec. For some reason, it says that the downloaded Makefile has invalid lines! Does NVIDIA have a corrupt git repository or am I missing the ball on this one completely? Any guidance would be appreciated!
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2024 Posted August 24, 2024 Hi, you should be able to get it to work although it will require going through this topic:

I'll report back after more reading and testing then. 7 hours ago, Luke said: But have you considered TrueNAS Scale? Not at this time. Emby is just one item in one jail vs. other features I'm using which is why I chose TrueNAS.

Luke 42077 Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Hi, are you still having an issue with this?
