Emby metadata and artwork

Hi, I'm using an emby server on infuse Apple TV 4K and found that Emby is quite bad for auto filling the metadata and artwork. I had to use the emby app on my phone to manually add a ton of info and artwork. It's especially bad at backdrops and I had to manually add every single backdrop for every single file. Infuse on the Apple TV however, always auto fills all info and artwork and backdrops automatically if I use a UPnP server to link to the files on my phone.

 

My question is, is there any way that I can get infuse to grab the metadata and artwork for the emby files accessed on Apple TV 4K? Ie can infuse ignore embys attempt to get artwork etc?

 

If there isn't, emby is so terrible at getting artwork that I'm just going to stop using it.

Or is there some setting on emby to make it more efficient at downloading artwork and backgrounds etc?

Without specific examples and server logs it is impossible to say.  Can only guess possible issues at the time of import talking to metadata providers.

The issue is that all of the metadata and the artwork and the backgrounds are all there when searching for them on the emby app. But none of them will load automatically, I have to manually choose all of them. Infuse does this automatically. I don't understand why Emby doesn't when they're using the same databases to get the information and the artwork etc

Sorry but I am confused as Emby and Infuse are two different products.  I have not seen an issue where Emby does not download and display images in Emby clients.  Do you have an example?

But we are talking about Apple so anything is possible but see no issue on my iOS phone and Emby images.

Don't know anything about the plugin but will assume the Emby InfuseSync plugin may be required.

Well yes I know that they're different products, that's why I was asking if I could somehow bypass embys attempts at loading artwork etc as it often fails, and use Infuse as the metadata grabber for Emby. An example is the recent Netflix show Kleo. Infuse loaded all of the information, all of the artwork and all of the backdrops straight away. Emby loaded nothing, and even when telling it where it is on IMDb or the movie database etc it still returns zero results for artwork backdrops etc. Using the identify option on Emby gave me a ton of incredibly obscure movies or TV shows, but not the Kleo that's on Netflix that only came out a couple of years ago

Devs will have to comment but it really depends on where Infuse saves artwork as it would have to be within Emby.
