phunzie 42 Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 when i try to delete an entire TV Series season by choosing "Emby: Delete Item" from the context menu, nothing happens...i can delete individual episodes no problem as well as individual movies, just not entire tv seasons also, when deleting a movie, when the confirmation window pops up asking to confirm yes/no to delete, the media file name is heavily truncated and is not completely displayed, although when deleting tv show, file name is properly displayed fully
Wasserfall 4 Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 (edited) I just upgraded from 10.x to 11.0.9. (Kodi Version is 21.1) and have the following problem: On 10.x I made (with 'Library Node Editor') a Node in 'Movies' (not in 'EMBY: (movies)') to filter for all my 4k movies (selection for "Video Resolution is 2160"). This worked very well. Now, I rebuild this Node in 11.0.9 and it works somewhat, but it does not show/select all my 4k movies anymore: It does NOT show 4k movies, when there are multiple versions of a movie (720p, 1080p, 2160p etc.). (These multiple versions are named according to the 'EMBY Movie Naming Rules'.) 11.0.9 only shows (all of my) 4k movies, when there is only a 4k version of a movie. Thank you. First, there is already a node available for 4k. No need to do it manually. Second, I assume the not listed movies are multiversions? If so, Kodi only "filters" by the default version. Seems Kodi dev's didn't think about that case.
Wasserfall 4 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 (edited) True, Emby has already a node for 4k. But it seems I cannot move Emby's 4k-node to a more prominent position (making an prominent entry within Favourites is possible, though), whereas I can move my manuell node up front (under Movies / Categories). But this is only cosmetically. More importantly the Emby 4k-node does also not show the multiversions-movies (and as it seems to me, the Emby 4k-node always groups sets - whereas with my manual node I can show set-movies individually (node grouping = none)). Like you said this may very well be a Kodi problem (I am no expert by any means), but strangely enough it is not a problem with Emby 10.x. Edited September 24, 2024 by Wasserfall

All the reported problems is how Kodi works and is not related to the plugin (for movies). Quote More importantly the Emby 4k-node does also not show the multiversions-movies Not true, it does but as I mentioned before. Only if the 4k version is the default version. Quote the Emby 4k-node always groups sets Also, depends on your Kodi settings (grouped or not). There are settings for that. Maybe you should review Kodi's configuration a bit more in detail.

brainbrain 1 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 I do not know what is causing this issue, but I believe it is emby settings or the addon, so apologies if this is not the correct place to ask it. Kodi seems to prioritise external srt subtitles over embedded. I have settings in emby and kodi saying that english subtitles are preferred, but i have a spanish .srt subtitle in the folders. Whenever loading media, it starts with the spanish .srt file. Any ideas on how to solve this?
supermood 71 Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 hi @quickmic I have a collection example 4 matrix movies. with an emby app I see the 4 movies in the collection. via kodi I only have 2 in the collection. Refreshing collections in the settings wasn't helping. any idea what I could do? many thanks! PS, auto update latest version yesterday
thacolonel 3 Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Do you know of a way to catch events for changes to the library (items added/deleted) in an Addon? I can see through the logs that you are catching them obviously through connection with Emby. Could you maybe implement a notifyall notification so that other add-ons could utilize the event manager that you've implemented?

I'm very happy that the external downloaded ones are always standard. something I'm waiting for with emby for years. I hate embedded ones if you don't need them I would just search *.srt with a file manager and delete all

The plugin uses Emby's websocket connection for realtime updates yes. (Start sync works completely different). Emby reports all sorts of events via Websocket but uses EmbyIDs not KodiIds (if applicable). Not sure what you have in mind, but if you need KodiIds you need to parse them. In debug mode you can see all incoming raw data from Emby server.

In debug mode you can see all incoming raw data from Emby server. I'm creating a custom skin and helper addon which as part of it creates custom genres to my Emby library (which then syncs back to Kodi through realtime updates from the websocket). I've attached a pic of my skin for reference. I'm trying to catch when an item gets added to the Emby/Kodi library so I can realtime update the custom genres. Kodi's built in notification handler only shows "OnscanStarted" but no data of what actually changed. I was hoping to implement the NotifyAll Kodi functionality into your addon which would communicate library changes with KodiID info if possible.

Incoming data from Emby are processed by the plugin. It means, a realtime forward just gives you info that Emby e.g. added an item. It doesn't mean the plugin has processed the data (Kodi database not updated at this point).. An instant notification could be too soon for your usecase. Edited September 28, 2024 by quickmic
quickmic 1703 Posted September 28, 2024 Author Posted September 28, 2024 (edited) btw, kodiscan is always triggered by the plugin after changes. But you cannot know, who triggered the scan and if content was removed or added. Also a notifyall with KodiIds will only work for synced content. Edited September 28, 2024 by quickmic

An instant notification could be too soon for your usecase. The "ADD" event would be ideal which would be after it is synced because once Emby is updated with new custom Genres it will just sync again as an UPDATE from your addon I believe. 28220 is the Kodi idFile and 2797 is the idMovie in the movie_view table. That would get me what I need with a custom NotifyAll notification of that data. ADD/UPDATE/DELETE seem to be the ideal places for a NotifyAll. 1

There is a Spanish sub for someone living with us as .srt. But kodi keeps chosing a language i did not select (spanish) over the embedded, which i give priority in language. Deleting the SRT is in this case not a solution.

Deleting the SRT is in this case not a solution. I put that on the review list, but I need detailed info of your subtitle settings. Emby and Kodi have several settings for default selection. Currently, plugin checks: Prio 1: Subtitle matches prefered language Prio 2: Subtitle is SubtitlesLanguage = "forced_only" and DisplayTitle = "forced" If a subtitle is enabled by default depends if customized by content (movie based enabled) or on Kodi's global subtitle settings. Mixing external subtitles with embedded ones, also behaves differently. And last but not least, Emby has also specific subtitle configurations. Edited September 29, 2024 by quickmic
supermood 71 Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 did you see my issue with collections? any idea? thanks!!

Did you review previous answers to this matter? I think you assigned the same movie to different collections on Emby and Kodi does not support that. Workaround also already posted -> You can use the tags to collections option or change it on Emby server.

I only see -- 4 movies in the matrix collection via emby -- no other matrix or similar collection in my collection list
