sfatula 207 Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Your dynamic libraries fix works great, the advanced options can now be disabled. 1
838Joel 63 Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 Finally I jump into the version 11, using Kodi 21.1 with 11.0.8. So far so good, but did not use it a lot. Will post if I find anything! Thanks for the great work! 1

Sounds something is work with your login credentials. Do you use multiserver? If so, maybe the second account is wrong. You could send me a kodi.log for review. Yes, that was a clean install. For the moment, I've switched to the 10.X branch, because primarily I wanted to test CoreELEC and the AM6B+. In case I keep it, I'll get back to this and reinstall with 11.X. Thank you!
SwanStream 64 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 hey @quickmic, been using the 10.1.1 since setting up a new coreelec box. been working great until a couple updates back... I'm running nightly version... update hasn't worked for a few days. I see there's a 10.1.2 and an 11.x.x and wonder if you can point me in the best direction. The 10.1.1 beta repository doesn't seem to see an update. I've factory reset the 10.1.1 so either is fine with me, but wonder if you have a suggestion. I'm not doing anything 'fancy' just basic library sync.
SwanStream 64 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Tried 11.0.8 and got shows, but no seasons or episodes. Did a few resets, db repair, update, etc without success. Didn't bother with movies. Uninstalled and installed the 10.x base and went to 10.1.2 video. Now all good. No other changes between versions. Odd.

The core module is the emby-next-gen service plugin. I changed that in 10/11.X. They should be auto as long as you installed via stable or beta repository. If youn installed manually (via zip file), you must keep track yourself or switch to one of the repo versions. 11.X is a public testing version and can only installed manually at the moment. EDIT: probably re-install the emby Kodi repos, there are changed made in the last weeks. I didn't run a test yet. Edited September 17, 2024 by quickmic

You are the first reporting this kind of issue with 11.X Probably a good idea to run tests with a Kodi version on a PC and not on you Box for debugging.
onlyimy 0 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Is it possible to add support for emby 4.7?

FrostByte 5392 Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 @quickmic Could you add a recentlyadded_photo dynamic node to Home videos and photos? I see one for recent videos and photo albums, but not one for just plain photos. I use this one for spotlights, etc. It's basically your recentlyadded_video node, but changed the content type to Photo. recentlyadded_photo.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?> <node order="69" type="folder"> <label>Recently added photos</label> <icon>picture.png</icon> <path>plugin://plugin.service.emby-next-gen/?mode=browse&id=19&parentid=19&libraryid=19&content=Photo&server=59e56b566f5f49b0a60ed020c43a7153&query=Recentlyadded</path> </node>

reactor 0 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 (edited) I'm new to emby and its ecosystem. I have a problem connecting my emby server (from an android tablet) to my kodi (21.1 latest) with emby (next gen) add on (fire tv 4k 2nd gen). The first time it connected without problem, but suddenly it started to say "server offline" (actually after I changed the setting for dynamic hdr). I had to factory reset, and now I'm unable to connect to my emby server (I'm manually inserting ip address). The problem it's not on my server side, because I can access it from PC and from the tablet itself (where I run emby server). Can someone help? Edited September 18, 2024 by reactor

OK, I'm back at 11.X. I was running 10.0.47 but have seen minor issues during playback of several FullHD *.mp4 files. Something like a spinning circle or ring (maybe buffering animation), but I can't really tell for sure. It is usually within the first 10 minutes of the file, and only once, for a fraction of a second. I'm not suggesting it's an emby-for-kodi-next-gen issue, could be anything on the client side. The server looks fine, nothing in the logs, almost all playback stream entries are 2-3ms, with one or two being 5ms. The client is an AM6B+, with CoreELEC 21.1.1 stable (NG), updated to the cpm build (T8). Skin is Aeon Nox Silvo. No other add-ons (except for what is installed by default and the keymap editor). I've updated 10.0.47 to 11.0.8 (and the three helper add-ons too). A quick test looked fine (regarding the aforementioned playback issue), but I'll have to look into it more. Anyhow, no more complaining about the access token! No idea why it's working now, but well. One thing I did notice. Under 10.X, the main menu items for the skin were setup using the emby dynamic library nodes. After the upgrade to 11.X (and the reset), the main page of e.g. my documentaries node would show that all episodes were watched (i.e., 0 unwatched). That is wrong however, and selecting a series, everything would be shown correctly. Now, with 11.X, there were also the non-dynamic nodes available. Switching the skin's main menu items to use these instead would show everything correctly.

I assume you tried to access the nodes via video addon and it's not available there. Edited September 19, 2024 by quickmic
voodoo5_6k 29 Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Watched two more of these videos, and saw this issue again, but it seemed to look different, like some sort GUI part. But hard to be sure. It's just a fraction of a second, and therefore easy to miss, and almost impossible to capture by video or photo. Anyhow, I think I'll go back to CE stable (the cpm build seems to be dead anyway, or so it seems in their forums), and if it occurs again, enable debug logging in Kodi to potentially capture something.

When I try that all I can do is add the folder for "Home videos & photos" However, when I try the libraries "How to videos" and "Surveillance Cameras" I can see what you're seeing. Is it possible that it doesn't like the "&" in the folder or library name? All 3 of those libraries are of type "Home videos & photos" in Emby. It's just that one is named that also. FrostByte 5392 Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 However, I can see the video nodes when I go through the video addon like you mentioned. Tried a node reset, still can't see any dynamic image nodes for that one library.

838Joel 63 Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Hi Quickmic, I have a suggestion, can it be possible to classify the version of plugins etc in subfolders to make it easier/faster to find and install? Because now it is all mixed v10 and v11... and olders Maybe something like this: ./Public testing/v10/plugin.service.emby-next-gen-10.0.47.zip ./Public testing/v10/plugin.video.emby-next-gen-10.1.1.zip ./Public testing/v10/plugin.audio.emby-next-gen-10.1.1.zip ./Public testing/v10/plugin.image.emby-next-gen-10.1.1.zip ./Public testing/v11/plugin.service.emby-next-gen-11.0.8.zip ./Public testing/v11/plugin.video.emby-next-gen-10.1.2.zip ./Public testing/v11/plugin.audio.emby-next-gen-10.1.2.zip ./Public testing/v11/plugin.image.emby-next-gen-10.1.2.zip I'm sure this is not the best way, but anything that makes more sense for you and that will help to not scroll hundreds+ of files into Public Testing! What you think? 2

voodoo5_6k 29 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Thanks for looking into this. Interesting. Well, I'll check it again when I go back to 11.X. Yesterday, I've reinstalled the device using CE 21.1.1 stable and 10.0.47 to see whether I could reproduce the playback glitches. And I could. Have started a discussion with the CE team to see what they make out of the debug log (at least once I can upload it there... seems difficult at the moment). For the time being I'll keep the device on CE stable and emby-for-kodi-next-gen stable. Once the playback glitches have been sorted out, I'll move back to 11.X. Thanks @quickmic 1
