How is your folder structure for movies? It might be a issue if you use only one folder for all sorts of movies.

Nevermind, I can see it in the log.

I cannot even count how many times I tested this.

-with and without path substitution.

-deleting default version

-deleting sub version

-renaming default version

-renaming sub version

-a adding a third version

-swaping second and third version

-swaping default and sub version

-with and without boxset

-using startup sync

-using realtime sync

Nothing triggered the issue, but I continue...

Thank you for all the testing— I really appreciate it.

The issue happens every time in my tests. I’ll keep testing to help narrow it down.

Thanks again~

Do you have the same movie on multiple Emby libraries assigned? I can see you have different Nas volumes attached?

Same movie on multiple libraries will deduplicate the movie.

Both versions I tested are in the same library.

In fact, they are stored in the same directory, like this:

MOV/Another Earth/Another Earth - version1.mkv
MOV/Another Earth/Another Earth - version2.mkv

New BETA version available 11.1.17:

Delta changelog 11.1.16 -> 11.1.17

fix reset cache for playlists on updates
add option to prefer local content over "plugin" links (default is on)
fix minor multiversion sync issues
fix special features for multiversion content assigned to multiple libraries
support Kodi's player default version setting for episodes, musicvideos and videos
fix edge case endless sync loop

Comment:

The option to prefer local content over "plugin" links requires a plugin library resync
Toggle of Kodi option "Select default video version" requires a Kodi restart so the plugin can catch up

If there are no showstoppers, this might be the next stable version

Just a short feedback, i testet the "The option to prefer local content over "plugin" links" over the last days, i seem to work perfect for me.

Thank you very much for that 😃

@quickmic
If I tag a video in kodi, is the tag transmitted back to emby server?

No, just a down sync from server.

Ok Thanks. Is there an API endpoint in emby that allows this?

I'm sure but you need to study the Emby server's api. As I'm not using Tag commands, I don't know them either.

@quickmicos there a setting for extras? I can see my extras but they don’t look like the first photo.

Didn't you compare (first image) the movie versions selection with (second image) the extras selection? What's the exact issue you are addressing?

No both pictures are from the extras menu. First picture looks correct. Second picture is my extras they don’t look like the first picture

I might of tagged the wrong picture for the first picture

when I click on extras it says versions. In my folder structure I have an extra folder created with the extras in them.

Disagree, it's clearly the videoversion selection as it says "Choose Version" which is the selection menu when you play a multiversion content via list browse:

Maybe it's more clear when you go via "Information" screen.

Maybe I still didn't get the point, currently everything looks correct to me.

btw, try use default skin for tests. There is always the possibility, that's a skin bug.

hey quickmic, as per my 2023 comment and my 2024 comment the issue of skipping intros working and then not working after some time is still happening for me.

I recently upgraded to 11.1.10 and a few future versions, and today to 11.1.19 - not sure when exactly it has stopped working, but I upgraded to 11. on the 5th and it was definitely working for some days, and now not working. Very frustrating as it is happening for years across multiple next-gen versions. It was not working on 11.1.17 (which I upgraded to on the 6th), so today I upgraded to 11.1.19 to see if that would fix it, which it did not.

Tomorrow I guess I will turn debugging on and start a show and send you the log to see if you can see anything.

hey quickmic, here is the log - hopefully we can get to the bottom of why it isn't working, I love the skip intro feature!
