Thx mate, I'll take my problem elsewhere as it's not plugin issue. I might be better off just moving the whole coreELEC install to the usb drive... I'm not great with android and how to get mounted prior to kodi is beyond me.

Currently, plugin checks:

Prio 1: Subtitle matches prefered language

Prio 2: Subtitle is SubtitlesLanguage = "forced_only" and DisplayTitle = "forced"

If a subtitle is enabled by default depends if customized by content (movie based enabled) or on Kodi's global subtitle settings.

Mixing external subtitles with embedded ones, also behaves differently.

And last but not least, Emby has also specific subtitle configurations.

Same Problem with external subtitles. My Config: Only forced subs in Emby and Kodi settings

My Filetypes: -MKV with embedded subtitles nonforced in nondefault language and sometimes additionaly with forced subs in default language

                         -MP4 with embedded subtitles nonforced in nondefault language and single external forced srt sub in default language

                         -MP4 with single external nonforced srt sub in nondefault language

In addon mode the MKV with embedded subs played as intended, the MP4 played always with external subtitles (which is ok for files with forced subs, but not for files with nonforced subs. I tried different settings in emby for subtitles without sucess.

Only solution for me was to change to native mode, which plays all file combinations as intended (as all other Emby Clients and Kodi does too).

So I am perfectly happy, I reported just in case you wanted to know.

No, but this wouldn't be, what I want, I want only forced subs, not regular subs loaded automatically. I tried change emby settings from forced to default without sucess.

We are talking about auto selection of subtitles, cause loading should be fine. Frankly, I never understood the concept of forced subtitles without language selection. e.g. What should be selected if 2 or more forced subtitles are available? roll the dice I don't know how Kodi decides such scenarios.

Kodi seems to prioritise external srt subtitles over embedded. I have settings in emby and kodi saying that english subtitles are preferred, but i have a spanish .srt subtitle in the folders. Whenever loading media, it starts with the spanish .srt file. Any ideas on how to solve this?

According to this post and my experiences I assume, that it is not a Kodi Problem. Kodi without or with E4KNG in native mode selects the categorized subs. Only in add on mode with E4KNG Kodi always prioritise (first?) external sub over embedded subs, regardless of language and forced flag.

Again, I am happy with native mode.

It's the script-emby-skipintrodialog.xml or script-emby-skipintrodialogembuary.xml, depending on the plugin settings. Default is script-emby-skipintrodialog.xml

Hi, I’ve run into another issue:

When I update a movie’s information on the Emby server (e.g., changing the clearlogo), the movie disappears from Kodi after syncing.
The movie shows up again after a library repair.
In the log, the movie I used for testing is 教授.

Similarly, if I delete one version of a multi-version movie, all versions of that movie disappear from Kodi. I’m not sure if this is related to the same issue.

Well, the log shows nothing suspicious. I'll run some tests.

Also I see several movies updated in the log. Do all have the same issue or probably only multiversion content? -> Any pattern?

Not only multiversion movies, in this log I only tested changing clearlogo for a movie on Emby server, and it's not a multiversion content.

However, the second issue seems to be a different one. Here are my testing steps:

• I tested with the movie Joker 2 (in the log, it shows as 小丑2). I created a copy of the movie’s .mkv file in the same directory and renamed it. Emby recognized both files as two versions, and they were synced correctly to Kodi.
• I then deleted the copied .mkv file and synced again. After this, both versions of the movie disappeared from Kodi.

For context, I have two movies, Joker and Joker 2, and they are grouped in a boxset. The boxset was deleted from Kodi too.

I run 17 tests, and never experienced that issue... I need to think how you possibly triggered the issue.

I'll focus on boxsets now... Probably the boxset delete triggered the issue.

After 32 tests, I cannot reproduce the issue. There must be another factor involved. Has the movie specials included?

I don’t have any specials, and it might not be related to boxsets either. I did some additional testing and noticed this:

If the different versions of the movie mkv files are in the same directory, deleting one of them causes all versions to be removed from Kodi.

If the versions are in separate directories, deleting one doesn’t affect the others in Kodi, and everything works fine.

Native mode on Android TV (has this issue).
But I'm not sure which mode on my testing PC.  Is there any way to know that ?  If not, I can run a factory reset.

I use native mode on my PC too.

hey quickmic, as per my 2023 comment and my 2024 comment the issue of skipping intros working and then not working after some time is still happening for me.

I recently upgraded to 11.1.10 and a few future versions, and today to 11.1.19 - not sure when exactly it has stopped working, but I upgraded to 11. on the 5th and it was definitely working for some days, and now not working. Very frustrating as it is happening for years across multiple next-gen versions. It was not working on 11.1.17 (which I upgraded to on the 6th), so today I upgraded to 11.1.19 to see if that would fix it, which it did not.

Tomorrow I guess I will turn debugging on and start a show and send you the log to see if you can see anything.

Thanks for the update! I did a few more tests:

In addon mode, everything works fine.
In native mode, the issue still occurs.
I also removed the “Shared network folder” path setting from the emby mov library, but the problem persists.

In this log, I followed these steps:

Added a new version of the movie in the same directory.
Deleted one version.
Ran library repair.

From the log, you can see that the movie was re-added after the library repair.

-with and without path substitution.

-deleting default version

-deleting sub version

-renaming default version

-renaming sub version

-a adding a third version

-swaping second and third version

-swaping default and sub version

-with and without boxset

-using startup sync

-using realtime sync

Nothing triggered the issue, but I continue...
