SYNYST3R1 9 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Is there any way to get forced subs to show automatically? They work fine in emby, but when I use Kodi I have to manually enable them. I've tried setting Kodi to forced subs only Edited December 29, 2024 by SYNYST3R1

SebUng 4 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 If multiple media sources available, it is possible to program the media selection option earlier? Actually my plugin strm files start and after this the media selection is shown, testet in addon and nativ mode.

If you are talking about Emby libraries, you can add them any time.
SebUng 4 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 (edited) I have a series as strm and local file, but it starts the strm file, after this the option is shown which media i want to select. It seem something to do with the date when a file is added: strm first, then the strm starts, media selction is shown after strm starts local file first, media section is directly shown The strm file is linked to an kodi plugin. I has nothing to do with one of the last updates, it is a general problem. Edited December 31, 2024 by SebUng
quickmic 1703 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 I think I've rough idea what your doing? A media source selection via strm? ...and what are you expecting from the plugin? Quote it is possible to program the media selection option earlier? What should be done earlier from plugin side, when the strm is doing the media selection independent from the plugin?

Both files are added to emby server with the automated merge option: The plugin resolves the strm from amazon vod, but if i have the series as local file too, it doestn need to resolve. Thats why I ask if emby next gen can ask me before the strm resolve which media i want to select. Or maybe an setting option that strm files are always at last selection when two files available. quickmic 1703 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 Info: There might be a bug with music synced nodes in latest beta version, I'll check it....
quickmic 1703 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 (edited) New BETA version available 11.1.16: Delta changelog 11.1.15 -> 11.1.16 fix music nodes fix playlist nodes (again) Comment: node reset is required when using playlists or music Edited January 1, 2025 by quickmic 1

Well I have no such test case, so I try to understand. So basically you have a multiversion content. One pointing to a strm file and one for local content, right? And you want to prioritize local content as the default multiselection version? Same as I did for e.g. resolutions? Higher resolution content is always default...

This acually doesnt work corretly in my case, the strm file is resolving and starts playback for one second, after this it switches automated to local file. The media selection is to late, it need to select before strm resolving. Edited January 1, 2025 by SebUng 1

It has actually nothing to do with Kodi's playback options, only which version is synced as Kodi default. You will have still 2 versions. But if you wish, you could configure Kodi to play default without asking... btw, only works for movie content, cause Kodi devs decided in their wisdom to support multiversions only for movies (natively). Episodes, musicvideos is still using plugin's workaround due to the limitation. What I will not do, is removing one version completely (based on pattern).
quickmic 1703 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 What I could offer additionally: For episodes etc, which uses the workaround, I could also play the default version without asking. I would use Kodi settings for that (play default version) ->
quickmic 1703 Posted January 1, 2025 Author Posted January 1, 2025 I need a sample strm file to write an appropriate filter.. Please upload one here.

quickmic 1703 Posted January 5, 2025 Author Posted January 5, 2025 (edited) New BETA version available 11.1.17: Delta changelog 11.1.16 -> 11.1.17 fix reset cache for playlists on updates add option to prefer local content over "plugin" links (default is on) fix minor multiversion sync issues fix special features for multiversion content assigned to multiple libraries support Kodi's player default version setting for episodes, musicvideos and videos fix edge case endless sync loop Comment: The option to prefer local content over "plugin" links requires a plugin library resync Toggle of Kodi option "Select default video version" requires a Kodi restart so the plugin can catch up If there are no showstoppers, this might be the next stable version Edited January 5, 2025 by quickmic
FrostByte 5392 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 I'm having an issue adding music library. When I add the library, it gets part way through and crashes Kodi. Service plugin 11.1.17 Emby 4.9.0.35 I can add music to Kodi using the Kodi generic nfo scrapers, but not with the plugin. I've had music added before with E4K, but it's been a while (maybe way back to v9 or 10). The crashing problem isn't recent though. I've tried a few times with 11.x, but always the same result. When Kodi restarts the library scan restarts automatically and then crashes again. It doesn't look like it crashes in the same spot. Sometimes the scan goes for a while, other times it's a real short time before it crashes. I'm also not sure if it is restarting where it left off, or if it's restarting from the beginning after Kodi restart. I do see a lot of music in the library, so it looks like it's done some stuff before crashing. I'm going to send my last two log to you via PM.
SwanStream 64 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 (edited) question - I'm running a coreelec box with limited storage space. I've added an external SSD via USB which shows up under the system information, so I know its "there" as far as the os is concerned. How can I get kodi/e4k to recognize and use the space for artwork cache, etc? I've tried to 'cache all artwork, but get an error about not enough space... Any suggestions greatly appreciated! This has actually nothing todo with the plugin. The plugin save the images at the same spot as Kodi does. You need to find a way to link your sd folder to Kodi's thumbnail folder. Usually I do that with symlinks. Something like ln -s /var/media/bla /storage/.kodi/userdata/thumbnails But sd card must be mounted before Kodi starts...
FrostByte 5392 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Can you do this with pathsubstitution in advancedsettings.xml also? <advancedsettings> <pathsubstitution> <substitute> <from>special://profile/Thumbnails/</from> <to>/location on usb hdd/</to> </substitute> </pathsubstitution> </advancedsettings> When I added a usb to my Shield I just reloaded Kodi to the usb, but you shouldn't have to do that.

Will not work for artwork caching. 1
