A few questions on Cast/Crew

1) What dictates how many cast/crew pulls through for a particular show or movie? I have some that seem to have only a fraction of the actual cast.

2) Is there any way to get more crew? Typically I only see Director, but would love to see people like Composers, etc.. so I can see what else they may have in my library.

Hi, there is no numeric limit, however only the main types of crew are imported and not every single random one.

Metadata provider order dictate where people are pulled from as only one is used, so say you have OMDB as first provider you will get limited actors as they only list like 4.  Where TMDB you could have a 100+.

As for Crew I don't think Emby gets anything but director and writer.

But real example of an item not showing all cast would be needed.  And what provider you are comparing it to.

1. As Happy2Play stated, you have to start by looking at the database where Emby is pulling the data from. Most of us are using TMDB (themoviedb.com) as the primary source, for a variety of reasons, but one is that they *tend* to have more complete information - but that's far from being 100% the case. You'll have to check on a title-by-title basis. The good news is that you can create an account there and edit the cast list yourself - just read the rules first and make sure you follow them. If you are using some other Emby-supported database as your primary data source, then you're going to be limited by whatever data they list for any given title, and you may or may not be able to edit those yourself. Obviously it's also worth looking at how you have your fetcher configured for any database you may be using - some may have different options than others.

2. Emby currently only pulls in Directors. It might be nice to have options to pull in other crew, but currently it is limited to Directors.
