How to select an edition to include in a collection

I have several sets of movies with both theatrical and director's cut editions. They are stacked in my movies library as a single item and I select the edition from the details page of the movie. I'd like to have separate collections for the two editions. Is this possible without splitting the two editions into two separate items in the library?

Hi, currently you can’t because the collection linking is independent of version.

Yes, and kind of. When you add to a playlist, the specific item is what will be displayed, but once you go to play, all of the usual multi-version features will apply. That means it may or may not end up being the one that is played.
