JBloom91 31 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 So I'm noticing this problem with a few albums, mainly one of my favourite artists. For some reason it lists his name over and over on the album. How do I fix this? https://musicbrainz.org/release-group/2435e0e9-22dd-4f38-9d65-03c214b4947e
Neminem 1519 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Check all the tracks with mp3tag. Mp3tag - Download And look at artist is written like that in the tags.
JBloom91 31 Posted August 22, 2024 Author Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) I use Musicbrainz picard, and as someone who has been editing and tagging metadata for almost a decade now, I can safely say that everything is tagged correctly. I believe it is because GORE writes their name in non-standard font. I know sites like theaudiodb can't even add him as an artist because of this. Edited August 22, 2024 by JBloom91
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) Will be hard to find but will have to look at every track to see embedded info.Β Since Emby uses ffprobe to read this info that is what you will need to use to see this info as in some cases can be different than what the tagging programs show. ffprobe -i "pathtofile" But since all your tracks are showing Artist I will guess there is a tagging issue. Β But I guess it could be a font issue as you mentioned.Β Will try to do some testing. Edited August 22, 2024 by Happy2Play
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Not sure how you got them grouped but adding with basic info will not group album. Using their name Windows sorts the folder at the bottom also so it has to do with the font/characters. Nothing stands out in ffprobe beside font/characters. Β Β Β No, it looks like something related to the encoding of the characters in the embedded tags. This prevented the server from being able to locate the existing artist and as a result it kept on adding new ones. So that needs to be looked at. 1

Thanks for taking the time to look into this by the way, much appreciated. 1
