kurtgschumacher 36 Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 I'm finally getting around to ripping some of my Criterion DVDs to my media server and adding them to Emby properly. (Each movie in its own folder with an Extras folder.) But I've run into a problem with audio tracks. Many Criterion discs have commentary tracks and sometimes multiple commentaries. Armageddon has two, The Big Boss has 4. I found that I can name the tracks with MKVToolNix, and in the browser and Windows apps that works fine. But in the Roku app, which is where we do most of our viewing, it doesn't show the track names. Please fix this, my wife is already tired of listening to me complain about it. 1
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 (edited) Devs will have to confirm but believe it is limited to one line. Will see if I can find the topic it was mentioned in. Pretty sure the Roku will have the same issues but devs will have to confirm. Edited August 22, 2024 by Happy2Play
kurtgschumacher 36 Posted August 22, 2024 Author Posted August 22, 2024 Thanks, I didn't find that when I did a search. I'll comment there.
speechles 2055 Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 On the Roku the issue is sort of the same. The layout we use for that selector is using a single line method where everything must be done with a single font and font size. It is possible on the Roku to change this to fit more and have this work exactly as it does on the web app. I can add this to our issue tracker. Reference: Issue #1636: Selectors need to move from using simple labellist into a custom rowlist for rendering 1

In the meantime I'll train everyone in the house on how to change the audio track. "If you get a commentary track, that means I was probably the last one watching it, so change it to the other track."
Tremas 197 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 Just bumping Roku Issue #1636. It's a big gripe for me, especially with content that has multiple commentary tracks that I painstakingly labeled in MKVToolNix.
Tremas 197 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 Replied to the comments made by in the other topic, but linking here since this is actually regarding Roku: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/130675-no-names-of-audio-streams-and-subtitles/#findComment-1420001
speechles 2055 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 (edited) I understand the issue. You cannot tell exactly what the streams are without more context. There will be something very very soon for the Roku. An example of this is shown below. Details View In player view Edited February 2, 2025 by speechles 1
