iPad 5.1 audio no dialogue (not down mixing to stereo)

Hi all

I am trying to watch a movie on my ipad but the dialogue is too quiet. I dont see any settings in the app client to downmix the 5.1 to stereo. However i tried a different movie and it worked no problem so maybe only specific audio is not being downmixed?

 

Movie that didnt work -English AC3 5.1 384kbps 48000 Hz -> Direct Play (384kbps)

Movie that did work - English EAC 5.1 640 kbps 48000Hz ->Transcode (MPe 192 kbps)

 

So is there a way to force downmixing? Or transcode audio only? I can only see quality for video (which i tried and no difference) and no "playback correction" that i can see on iPad

i don’t understand, I just went to replay the same movie on the same iPad as last night so I could capture the logs. And low and behold the audio is playing fine.

im gonna try fast forwarding a bit and keep testing different parts of the movie to try and reproduce it so I can provide the logs
