auto rename files videos movies

hello everything is fine?  Does anyone know a way, plugin or application so that the name of the movie or series file is automatically renamed in each folder?  The same is done in musicbrainz for music.  Sorry if there's already a topic like this.  thanks.

It's recommended to provide more info, as it explain in this thread:

Thank you.

When what i want is naming that works in Emby I use "Filebot" with a simple format string: " {n.replaceTrailingBrackets()} - {s00e00.lower()} - {t}" for TV shows and for movies I keep it very simple and just use the default after making sure the date is always included. ie.
"Movie Name (year).ext"

For other bulk renaming tasks I use the little program called "ReNamer lite." There are a bunch of other tools for renaning files but those twt do the job for me.

I do all my renaming completely outside Emby and I strongly recommend against even having the folder you are changing at a location where Emby cannot see it. Renaming files that Emby is actively monitoring simply carries too much "risk" for me.

I hope renaming is never handled inside Emby as then I would be apt to try it and, with my luck, have things go horribly wrong.

Filebot, Rename My TV Series and ReNamer are all good utilities. You do not want Emby to ever be in control of file renaming as it could potentially destroy your entire library.

The media management aspects of sonar and radar are simply unbeatable as they use the same structure and provider lookups as emby.  You can then specify the formatting and it will rename them and continue to do so as new items or episodes get added.

Another option would be to move them out of your library folders and use the auto-organize plugin to move them back in.
