Moved files still showing in previous listing.

Sorry haven't found any topics regarding this, i have been using Emby for over a year now and my files were going pretty much everywhere.   Decided to do a cleanup and moved files by Type/style and other stuff like that but the issue is that even after files are moved, the thumbnails are still showing in the old libraries even if the file isn't even available in the directory anymore and a new scan was made, only thing left showing are grey thumbnail with titles....

Know bug? way to clear this up? anything would be appreciated.

Can you show use a specific example and what libraries do you have configured.  May need to see the server log also.

Specifics.... what kind of specifics you want, example i moved Star Trek Prodigy from my Series library to my Anime library... and the icon still shows even if files have been moved, the logs created during refresh say nothing about the file

Corresponding logs would be nice but per the name this is an Unidentified show.

I have no idea which log you would need exactly.. but as specified the show was moved to another repertory on the NAS, library update cannot see the file or update the metadata for it since the files are not in the *old* library.. it was moved to another Rep/Lib..

looks like Emby doesn't detect the files are missing from the repertory somehow and doesn't remove the data.

Will need to see a server log as it sounds like there should be errors in it.

What libraries have you setup?

Do you have an library paths that are children of any other parent library?

Emby runs in a Proxmox VM mounted via CIFS, the paths on the NAS are

series folder:  \\Stormology\CyberNas\Media\Series et Trilogies

Anime folder: \\Stormology\CyberNas\Media\Anime

Parent is \\Stormology\CyberNas\Media (AKA linux mount /media/Cynas/Media)..  files moved from *Series et trilogies* to *Anime*

here is the latest log created after a refresh scan.

Hi, if you edit metadata on this entry, what path does it show?

Metadata was still showing \\Stormology\CyberNas\Media\Series et Trilogies\Star.Trek.Prodigy (linux mount /media/Cynas/Media/Series et Trilogies/Star.Trek.Prodigy)

Got pissed off yesterday and moved all the files to my truenas box instead of the Synology, libraries were ok UNTIL i moved Star trek Lower decks which i had missed and i get the same @#(*$#@($!#@..

image.png.2d357975cedd786fabc7b9737c2ad9d9.png

this is still showing in the series library but it is NOT in the folder..

and it is showing correctly in the Anime lib/folder as it should be..

Note that all the people i know who are using emby have the same issue when moving files, the library coding doesn' t seem to remove data correctly, this is not simply user error.

Hi, did you run a library scan after doing that?

Hi, just looking to understand. So you only have two libraries added in Emby library setup? Is that correct?

No, i actually have 5 separate libraries in my Emby system which are Different Shared folders i have mounted through CIFS to access my NAS files like so :

When i moved my Anime medias from the *Series* Lib to the *Anime* lib, the thumbnails stayed in the series lib like i have shown twice in previous post, again as stated i am not the only one with this issue.

Here is how I name my folders to get it right the first time.

Star Trek - Lower Decks (2020) [TvdbId=367138]

Star Trek - Prodigy (2021) [TvdbId=385811]

Its all about not giving Emby wriggle room to get et wrong 😉

Seriously this is not even part of the issue, guess you should read from the start again... but nice try.

One way you can clean up is just redoing all your libraries but it will be like a "fresh" install that way. I'm not sure how the watched data is kept so it could be lost doing it that way but it should for sure fix your issues in theory since it's creating a new library. You really should try to follow the emby naming conventions though for little fuss. Use Sonarr/Radarr stack to manage the files for you.

Get real, got about 10T of data... not going to re-do the frak'in Libs everytime i move a file, think you also need to read the thread again, come on !!
