Emby-Account Benutzername und Passwort

Hallo zusammen.

Ringo

If you are using Connect, please try again as there was an update yesterday that appears to affect it.

Oh, really? Yesterday and today I tried it many times. I’m scared they would block my profile if I go on with that. 😬

Are you good now as the admins just fixed it per other topics.  But this is if you are using Emby Connect.

Btw: Is there an option to login in the account and check my settings even I’m not at home in my private network? May I made something wrong with the configuration of Emby Connext? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It tried it right now, but I’ve get the same reply: incorrect username or password (username is correct, otherwise it wouldn’t be possible to get the link for set a new password). 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes it looks like it is still having issues as I am getting the same again.  But your Connect account is the same as your Forum account so you reset it on forum login page forgot password or Go to your user setting at the top right of the forum.  But you are logged in here so it can't be password issue.

Hhmmmm, very confusing. Just in the moment I’m away from home, want to watch my movies and maybe share my account with my family. 🤷🏻‍♂️

One reason I do not depend on Connect and almost always direct connect to my server via WANIP:port or Domainname:port and login with Emby local user.

Hi, we are looking into this. The workaround for now is to sign into your server without using Emby Connect. You can do this by clicking add server from the server selection screen, entering your server address, and then signing into it. Thanks guys.

Folks, we think we have this under control now.  It was a new security setting in the forum software that was wreaking havoc with Connect.

It should be good now again...

Thanks for your patience.

Hi 🙂 Unfortunately it still does'nt work here for me. I presume the problem is on my side. So I have two questions:
1. Where I can check my settings for my account in my own network, the access from outside my network and the account of the forum?
2. Can I do that from outside my home network?
Thanks very much for your patience and help! 🙂

Hi there, can you please describe your issue in more detail? Thanks.

Ok. I use Emby at home as written in my first comment. In my private network the address on all client devices is a LAN address. And of course I know username and password for it. Now I’m away from home and want to use Emby, maybe also to share my movies, tv shows etc. with my family. The address in that case is different of course, not a LAN address. I took it from my Synology SyncStation. When I click there on the Emby server app a new tab in my browser opens and I can enter the username and password for my Emby account. I have no idea why, but the same account details that work at home doesn’t work now. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi.  Exactly what address is this going to?  If it is app.emby.media, then it is not connecting direct to your server and would require you to setup Emby Connect.

However, you don't have to do that if you don't want.  Instead, open a new browser tab and go directly to your server by using the WAN address shown on your dashboard.

Of course, you will have to have properly setup remote access for any of this to work.

Thats the address: http://sabayon.direct.quickconnect.to:8096/web/index.html#!/startup/manuallogin.html?serverId=c7cdd4c4996c424db65dae1b0a0b19de
"http://sabayon.direct.quickconnect.to..." is the address where I can reach my server from everywhere worldwide. If you click the URL the Emby login mask opens.

And btw: In case I want to use/configure Emby connect; can I configure that via Internet, or only, if I'm at home in my private network? If it works from outside/via WAN, do you have a link for it?

You need remote access to add connect user to local user.  But using the info you provided it would appear Emby port is not open only port 80.  So this suggest either UPNP port mapper is not working or you have not manually port forwarded Emby port for remote accesss.

A mod or dev should edit your post above.

Good morning Luke 🙂
As you can see in the Screenshots: I open my Synology SyncStation and there the "Paket-Zentrum" where I find all installed Apps. There I open Emby Server (see the red marked URL). Emby opens in a new browser tab (see the URL, its not the LAN address). I enter the same username and password as at home, but it always say "Anmeldefehler" (login failure: username and password is wrong)

Ah I see. So I only can fix that from home, inside my private network, or via remote access?

If you are getting to your login screen then It would suggest the connections is good.  I would have to guess you did not enable Remote access on the user then.  As you get the generic error of invalid username/password.

But you still would have to be able to remote into your network to adjust the user account.

Is there an option to configure that from "outside", or do I need to do it from home/inside my private network? In that case I need to wait for my nephew to come home and send me the access ID for AnyDesk.
