Samardzic 1 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Emby server installed on Windows 10 pro (Dell optiplex 3070 mini pc with i3 and 16 Gb RAM... used only as a server). The problem is when come to reproduction of some files, it simply shows error message on web browser (edge or firefox), or on android phone plays music without any voice. What is strange, on android says that piece of music has duration of billion of minutes. If you play the same file through EDGE (directly as a file) or using VLC on PC computer, you can hear music properly. Same file through Emby, simply provide error or not played. Herein attached at least one file (received from NAXOS records as free sample) which makes problems. 01.01_-_Trio_No._1_for_Clarinet,_Cello_and_Piano_Left_Hand_in_E_Minor;_I._Allegro_comodo.flac

Lessaj 467 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 You'll have to provide your server log, I cannot reproduce an issue with this file, I don't see billions of minutes on my android device. Maybe you need to refresh metadata on the item? 1
Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 So if you drag and drop the file into your browser does it play? But not seeing an issue either.
Luke 42079 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Yea try the drag and drop test. Sometimes there are certain files that are encoded in such a way that the browser audio player can't handle.
Samardzic 1 Posted August 15, 2024 Author Posted August 15, 2024 Sory for my delayed response. Actually, here is printscreen what happend if I want to reproduce file on web browser embyserver (1).txtffmpeg-transcode-279fa2b4-3001-4e00-a8a5-bb1d38ec366a_1.txtffmpeg-transcode-ebf960e3-c5c1-4db1-a2f7-a56cfeb757ee_1.txt The same playback error I am getting both from EDGE and Firefox. Here included LOG files... I am sure that this few log files would be enough.

It works if I drag and drop file into the browser - exactly as you showed on your printscreen. 4 hours ago, Happy2Play said: 1

Did you try the drag and drop into Browser itself? The test file plays in Edge Version 128.0.2739.22 and Firefox v129.0.1. But suggest media is not probed to show media info as there is no streams or formats in ffmpeg log. So Emby has no idea how to play it. @Lukewill have to comment further as Emby ffprobe on this Windows setup does no like the file. But my same Windows had no issue. I tired drag and drop into EDGE or Firefox and it works fine. If you want, i can make "guest" account on my Emby server so you can try to connect and see alive what is going on.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Just now, Samardzic said: I tired drag and drop into EDGE or Firefox and it works fine. If you want, i can make "guest" account on my Emby server so you can try to connect and see alive what is going on. I saw you post at the same time I did. I think the devs will have to comment as ffprobe is failing you your setup. Can you test not running Emby as a Service and launch the app regularly to see if it is a service issue?
Lessaj 467 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 I see in that JSON that it reports the size as 0. What metadata is shown for the item when viewing the item detail page? Are there any NFOs in the folder that contains the item and/or do you save NFOs alongside the media?
Samardzic 1 Posted August 15, 2024 Author Posted August 15, 2024 Very strange! Now, the files were synchronized newly and all songs works properly!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the incorrect alarm. Thank you for your attempts to help me solving the problem Anyhow, you are welcome to login (in next 1 hour) on next site: http://178.221.122.196:8096 user: luke pass: luke-test Choose folder and try.
Lessaj 467 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Just to inform you I did access and tried to play the first item and the folder with both play and shuffle so I concur that it's working now. My only guess is the metadata was not correct and it got refreshed. I figured I could answer my own question about the media info that way but I wouldn't know if it was updated or not.
Solution Samardzic 1 Posted August 15, 2024 Author Solution Posted August 15, 2024 After all... I believe that problem was in file synchronisation. i am keeping all files in OneDrive (for safety reason), and synchronizing with Emby server machine once I upload something to One Drive. Most likely, synchronization was not performed fully and this was triggering such Error message. Sorry for inconvenience and thank you all!
Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 All appear to play fine now. Was going to suggest checking media info in Emby If you go to the album in Emby and right click on the track and click the super secret info button at top right, what shows for media info?
Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) In the end if media does not show media info in Emby is can not be played and will show "no compatible streams" do to lack of information at the time. Edited August 15, 2024 by Happy2Play

Happy2Play 9781 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) Yes I will assume you will see a ffprobe success in your server log track where previously it failed. Edited August 15, 2024 by Happy2Play
