Just switched over from Jellyfin and I'm having a myriad of issues that I'll post across in the appropriate threads.

For the Android thread, my android app is stating that my Access Token is invalid or expired when I try to login.

Hello everyone,

I just switched over from Jellyfin and I'm having a myriad of issues. I finally got the server up and running. I am accessing it through my own domain/url. When I installed, I told it to utilize a bridge network through the Container manager. On my dashboard, it says that to access on WAN is https://mysubdomain.mydomain.co:8096, however, I don't need the port added on the end. Is there some way to change this? I can access it simply by putting in https://mysubdomain.mydomain.co.

I just purchased the lifetime subscription to premiere, but the server states that the key is invalid or missing. I've tried all of the steps here.

My library scan seems to be hung on 90% for movies. It hasn't scanned tv shows or books yet. My movies library consists of approximately 1100 movies, 40 to 50 tv shows, and about 10 to 20 books.

I'm running Emby on Container manager on a Synology DS920+.

I'm an idiot. I was entering my domain and clearing the port instead of changing it to 443. Duh-huh.

Hi, thanks for following up !

OT:

You will want to change inotify max watches for Real Time Monitoring to work properly.

The configured user limit (8192) on the number of inotify watches has been reached, or the operating system failed to allocate a required resource.

I have run a script in Synology that is supposed to have upped this but it appears to not be working.

The script is

Quote

sh -c '(sleep 90 && echo 999999999> /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches)&'

Wasn't sure of the platform.  Not sure if the value you have is usable.

Thanks! I'll try this script and see if it works better since the one I was using isn't working.

So I updated my script based on FrostByte's original post. I had to increase the instances to 524288. I ran it successfully and the change took effect, however, my library scan is still hanging up at 90%. I've tried scanning my libraries independently instead of a whole library scan (I.E. tv, then movies, then books by themselves) with no change.

All external communications are timing out.  But looks like Emby trying to get metadata per show.

Connection to https://www.mb3admin.com/admin/service/EmbyPackages.json timed out
Connection to https://api.github.com/repos/MediaBrowser/Emby.Releases/releases timed out
Connection to https://mb3admin.com/admin/service/registration/validate timed out
Connection to https://api4.thetvdb.com/v4/login timed out
Connection to https://webservice.fanart.tv/v3/tv/83268?api_key=apikey timed out

I'll check into this. I have a firewall on the NAS and I route my traffic through cloudflare. I pay extra for the pro version of it so there aren't any restrictions.

Yes those are the ones listed in this log but will assume same issue with moviedb (tmdb plugin) and OMDB and any other metadata provider plugin you may use.  So you may have to look out for other timed out connections.

So I checked my Synology network interface and IPV6 is turned off.

I turned my firewall off and it *appears* to be working because I'm up to 91% now after restarting the scan.

Yep you just have to be patient and wait as the percentage indicator will get to 90% but then take forever on that last 10%.  All you can really do is check the log to see if media is still being processed.

Oh yeah, JellyFin took forever to scan on initial as well. I just figured it was getting hung up since the server wasn't reaching TVDB and TMDB.

Removing the firewall also fixed my issue with the Premiere validation so I've got some work ahead of me doing the exceptions for the firewall.

The only issue I'm still having is that emby wants to tack on the port to the end of my domain for WAN access.

Final update, just in case anyone else has this issue. This is the solution to resolve the wrong port being listed in the dashboard for the WAN access. I use a reverse proxy to handle HTTPS redirects so I had to change the settings for the secure connection mode to "handled by reverse proxy." I then had to change the WAN secure port from the default 8920 to 443. Now in the dashboard, the listed WAN access is https://mysubdomain.mydomain.com.
