Backup & Restore plugin

Hello, I would like to ask someone who has used the Backup & Restore plugin. I have the following question: Can this plugin help me set up this same server on another machine without having to spend so much time synchronizing library metadata? And if so, does it only work for the same server or can it be cloned for a new independent server?

HI, yes you should be able to do that.

Thanks for your answer, meaning can I reset the same server on another machine to delete the old machine and could I also clone the configuration for a totally new server?

Hi, yes it is a pretty complete restore.

Hola, sí es una restauración bastante completa.

Sorry for the insistence, but I see that in the tutorial you have on Backup & Restore Plugin it says that no copy of the metadata is made, is there a way to avoid having to re-synchronize all the content since this takes a long time.

Note: I have Dropox virtual drives mounted with RCLONE, could you help me with a guide to set up a new server and be able to take advantage of the metadata of the current server?

I guess the first question that needs answering is will the library paths change?  If yes then the answer is no Backup and Restore will not work out here as paths are changing.  If library paths remain the same then yes a backup from machine A can be restored on machine B.  If both machines are going to remain online you will want to uncheck Restore ServerID.

As for the Backup you will want ensure /metadata/library and /metadata/people are part of the backup and the other two for music if applicable.
