Bobwood 6 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Subtitles are always on when i watch tv shows in the Series folder, ive turned off in the android cc setting on the LG Tv, and in the Emby media Centre. Don't have the issue in the Movies folder. Running Windows 10 server and LG smart tv Emby client.
Luke 42079 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Hi there, have you explored your emby user subtitle settings where you can set your default subtitle mode?
Luke 42079 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Try unchecking the box to remember track selections.
Bobwood 6 Posted August 14, 2024 Author Posted August 14, 2024 Unchecked, restarted Emby server and TV app, still showing subtitles, English in English series. Even added a new series and its also showing subs.
Luke 42079 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 Can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.
Bobwood 6 Posted August 14, 2024 Author Posted August 14, 2024 Sorry i dont follow? Its displaying subtitles on every single series i watch in the series folder, even thought ive turned off subtitles.

Luke 42079 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 OK they're probably already burned right into the video. Have you looked into this?

Solution Luke 42079 Posted August 15, 2024 Solution Posted August 15, 2024 2 hours ago, Bobwood said: Yes my LG Smart tv is Web OS 2 OK this is an issue with LG webOS 1 and 2. It always displays subtitles if they are embedded in the video. There is no way for us to stop this. We can workaround this by forcing transcoding to remove the subtitles, but we haven't added this kind of workaround into the app yet.

It weird its only an issue on the Series folder, the Movies folder shows no subtitles?
Luke 42079 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 All mkv files on WebOS 2.0. LG resolved the issue starting in WebOS 3.

Luke 42079 Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 Yes that is the issue. It is limited to mkv files on only WebOS 1 and 2. 1
