New Server - Restorequestion...

Hi Fans,

i had some Problems with my old Server. It was an lxc Debian 9 Container with emby 4.7.14

I was not able to update it.

After a major Power-Shut down in my Appartment (i shutdown everything before) i had an additional Problem, on my livingroom AppleTV my emby User where freezing in the start section. Everywhere els it was working - but not in the Livingroom. AppleTV reset, fresh install of the emby App, erase the AppleTV under "Devices" in teh emby Server... nothing helps.

So i started over. Update proxmox, make a new Clxc with Debian 12, install emby 4.8.8.0

so far so good. But i did not have premier. So i copy all Files from the Folder /var/lib/emby of the old Server to an mountpoint in a SIC_Folder.

Which files i can restore to the new Server to have my watchestatus? is it the user.db?

whould it an good idea to copy the old db to the new Server?

Or is it better to create all Users new and set the Watchedstatus new on all Movies... i mean i 'll need a week or two to click everthing, but ok.

Caused of that i thought i will ask here befor. Cause in the moment the old Servere is still working just without the Update and without my AppleTV in the Livinngroom 🙂

I seached befor the Forum but did not find a real solutionn for exactly my situation or my question. So if there is something i am sorry, just give me a link and i will repeat reading 🙂

Thx. Friend, have a wonderful Day...

Hi @AlpinaMIchaI would suggest copying the entire data folder.

Copying specific files to restore certain pieces is not really supported, but if you really want to try then I would start with the .db files.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Thanks for your Answer Luke.

In the meantime i did it for the Seasons with mouseclick for my own user....

So i'll try in the next days to clone the machine ant test it over there... The new emby server on the actual release iis just runnig too good to make some experiments... 🙂

I'll let you know what happened...

Thx.

Michael
