Dependency on Emby Company Infrastructure

I'm considering purchasing a license for Emby.  Without having truly tested Emby yet I can see the similarities between Emby and another project that has no dependency on any external infrastructure, but which falls short for me in some areas that Emby seems to cover.

So, what I'd like to know is if I purchase a lifetime perpetual license but Emby development was to cease and the company infrastructure goes offline, will my Emby server and clients continue to function?

I was looking for information on this, and found this question was asked in the Q&A back in February but it wasn't one of the lucky questions selected for an answer.

Hi.  That question used to come up a lot when we first started (over 10 years ago).  I think the fact that it hasn't been an issue in all that time makes it not such a pressing question any more.

We have no view into the future and, technically, you have this risk with just about any piece of connected software you purchase today but, other than a catastrophic event wiping out our entire operation (which would have to occur over a very broad area as we are spread out) we would try to leave you with a functional system if we could foresee something changing.  But, I'm afraid, there no way we (or anyone) can guarantee you anything.
