"New" clients usually don't find my EMBY server. It takes a while, as SSDP multicasts are only sent every minute. This sucks.

Sure, a minute is not much, but it is way too much if you sit there and wait for it. I'd like to set the frequency to - let's say - 20 seconds. Maybe this even exists, but I didn't find it. I looked into these xml files at /var/lib/emby/config/

I'm running Emby on Debian Linux.

It's a client coming in, connecting to WiFi and wants to stream. 1-minute multicasts work fine for clients that are already connected, but these new clients have to wait for up to 60 seconds, so they complain, it does not work.

Hi.  Can you give us a specific example?  I've never had a new installation of an app not immediately see my server on the network.

Sure, @ebr

A customer comes in, connects to WiFi and turns on - let's say - BubblePNP on his mobile phone. He won't see the media server and starts complaining. Just a minute later the media server would have shown up, but it's already too late.

That's why I wanted to make multicasts more frequent. I can not influence the setup of these client devices.

Sure, I do. I'm just testing, and found out, there is a problem ...

OK so we're just talking Dlna. But usually those apps will also send out search requests, and Emby Server Dlna will immediately respond to those.
