NthrnNYker58 0 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 (edited) I'm having difficulty in populating guide info onto my OTA tuner (Hauppauge dual tuner) in Emby using NextPVR as the tuner front end ---- it's an odd problem and I apologize in advance for being long-winded in describing the issue. First off, I have the tuner as described above combined with a multitude of IPTV channels, and I have the guide data populated with the data now inherent to Emby for both tuner & IPTV --- everything working as it should (initially). That said, recently (within the past year) I have noticed big gaps in the guide data on certain channels , but only for the tuner channels. It happens on a daily basis, and then in the afternoon, the guide fully populates itself. THEN, I went on NEXTPVR to scan for new channels (in my area, they change or come and go frequently) and I happened to notice that the guide on NextPVR had gaps in IT'S guide (the guide data that it downloads OTA) that exactly correlates with the gaps in the Emby guide data. So I scanned for the guide data on NextPVR (OTA), and it fully populated the guide --- and then refreshed the guide in Emby ... Lo and behold ... the guide data for that tuner fully populated itself. Next day, same issue --- but this time, I ERASED all the guide data in NextPVR, and then refreshed the guide in Emby ... once again, the guide data in Emby fully populated itself (for the tuner). I repeated the process numerous times over the next 3 weeks, same story every single day. I would refresh the guide data in emby first, then it would still show big gaps in multiple channels for the EPG guide data. Immediately thereafter, I would refresh the guide data in NextPVR, then immediately refresh the guide data in emby --- fully populated Guide. And then I would repeat the process with the erased guide data in NextPVR. Same results. I KNOW I have the Tuner channels programmed in emby to use the guide data inherent to Emby ---- so why would the guide data in NextPVR have any bearing at all on the guide in Emby ? I'd send you a log file, but I have no idea of which log to attach. Next time it happens, I can grab screenshots, if you like ! So what, in your opinion ... is going on here ? Luke 42077 Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 HI, you probably have the NextPvr plugin installed in Emby Server, and you are importing your channels into Emby Server from NexrPvr and not directly from your tuner. When you do this, the guide data will be supplied by NextPvr. Does this answer your question?

The thing is, which is really weird --- for the OTA channels that DO have guide data displayed on the Emby TV guide, all the TV shows for those channels show the logos of those TV shows across the schedule ---- in other words --- when I refresh my guide data OTA through NextPVR, it shows the data but no channel graphics of the shows available --- but they DO show on the Emby guide I put together. In essence, although I knew NextPVR imported text data OTA, but not graphics like pictures or channel logos Hence my reasoning that Emby guide was supplying the guide data. In any case, I found the solution ---- I cleared all the data on the NextPVR app, and then disabled any further automatic refresh. Works like a charm now
Luke 42077 Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 @NthrnNYker58where did you disable automatic refresh? Hopefully not in Emby Server because you'll run out of guide data that way...
