griffindodd 18 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 (edited) Running Emby on Nvidia Shield my receiver sees all inbound audio as DD 5.1 no matter the original format My audio settings in Android are set to auto, but even manually choosing all Formats has no effect, and in Emby I have passthru enabled for all formats my receiver is a Denon 6300h which supports a massive range of audio formats so it isn’t a limitation here Edited August 10, 2024 by griffindodd
pünktchen 1409 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Make sure Dolby Audio Processing is off under Nvidia Shield Settings > Device Preferences > Display & Sound > Advanced sound setttings > Dolby audio processing.

Thanks. I’m. Pretty sure it is but I will double check.
ebr 16169 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 You can see in our stats that we are sending DTS-HD. Something after us is converting it it appears.
griffindodd 18 Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 This is weird. a totally different shield in another part of the house. Different AVR (Onkyo 9.2 NR797) but the same issue. I can’t figure out what is happening.
griffindodd 18 Posted August 11, 2024 Author Posted August 11, 2024 Ok so I tried another movie which was also labeled as DTS-MA and that did pass thru. Something is happening with transcoding on certain files, it seems to be moving back and forward between direct stream and transcode in the stats for nerds reporting. I see it change as certain files play. Keeps saying ‘Unsupported Video Level’ as the conversion reason. Can I disable transcoding for the local network? I have no need for it.

Has a bug/typo mentioned in other topics. You have to rollback or move forward to beta. Edited August 11, 2024 by Happy2Play

Ahh ok. I'll sign up for beta and give that a try. I tested with Emby for Android and the direct play with DTS worked perfectly on the same file I was using to test, however the Android app demands that I have Emby Premier to play files. What you need to do is sideload the updated beta or exit the beta in Google and go back to production. beta release of the app
