voodoo5_6k 29 Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Just saw this here... https://store.google.com/us/product/google_tv_streamer?hl=en-US As its from Google, we might see somewhat long support, like with the Pixel phones. Could this be an interesting device for emby? (Currently, I'm using the 2019 Shield TV Pro and am very happy with it, but it struggled with e.g. 4K80 which I had to rework to L5.1 before it would play)
Luke 42077 Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Hi, yes it will be interesting to see what kind of horsepower they have.
FrostByte 5392 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Missing a few codecs on that list I would need such as DTSHD, and Dolby Atmos could very well mean EAC only. If it's geared toward streaming then that would seem to indicate no lossless audio formats, probably no PGS subtitles, etc that you find on UHD remuxes. Would like to see more details on launch though. 1
voodoo5_6k 29 Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 @FrostByteGood point with DTS not being listed. As >99% of my files are backups of my discs, there are a lot of DTS audio streams... Well, would definitely be nice to see the full spec sheet instead of the little they disclosed...
