Emby Migration - Windows Server to Synology NAS

Hi,

I am trying to migrate my Emby Server installation from my Windows Server to a Synology NAS.

I've completed in the install on the NAS and I am able to login.

I am trying to restore my backup now.

My understanding is that the both installs need to be pointing at the same Backup Location for the NAS to detect the existing backups?

I've tried sharing the Emby Backup location on the server and using that on the NAS, but the backup fails within a couple seconds of starting

I've tried sharing a location on the NAS, but Emby on the NAS can't select browse to that location, and if i enter it manually, the backup fails within a couple seconds of starting.

 

Any suggestions/guidance will be greatly appreciated.

HI, the backup plugin currently has some limitations in regards to windows to linux transitions, and vice versa, so just FYI.

It will need to be a path that Emby on the Synology can reach.  This guide has some info on Synology permissions that may help:
