is there a way to have collection "extras" ?

 

Movies

--Indiana jones

----Extras

----Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

----Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984)

----Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

----Indiana Jones and let's give george more money (2008)

 

so special features that relate to the entire series can have a logical place to go...

If i read this correctly you have some extras that is for the indiana jones collection?

if yes then make a feature request since this is nothing i have ever heard of

Can you give an example of why these are extras for the collection and not extras for the individual movies as the structure is already built for?

well.. i have short features where they talk of the entire series as a whole not specific movies .. ex: the indiana jones music, the special effects etc .. and go from one movie to another in the same feature. They don't really belong with a specific movie but would ideally be a collection extra feature.

Is there support for collection extras in the metadata sources?  Without that there wouldn't be much value to this IMO.l

There doesn't need to be metadata support, there is none for movie extras

there is no officially supported way to do this right now. it's something we can think about for later. until then for maximum compatibility across clients, i would suggest just picking one of the movies and adding them as extras to that.

i don't mind supplying my own metadata for this if i have to .. the goal is to have them show up at least as playable features
