can't unset environment variables on Debian permanently

Hello,

while investigating this issue

 

I setup a proxy on my Debian 12 dedicated server with

export https_proxy=...

export HTTPS_PROXY=...

 

Now I want to undo this change with
unset https_prox=...
unset HTTPS_PROXY=...

but on every reboot they show up again in the env list.

Feels like I am missing something very basic here, but currently I am quite lost how to disable the proxy settings on this machine again.

Anybody got some ideas?
