Luke 42077 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Even though the zh-cn title on the movie db website might be empty, it is coming out of their api as "Severance". Therefore there is no way to fallback to something else because they are telling us what the title should be. Not an issue with tvdb though.

Yes from a TVDB standpoint there is a zh-cn assume they can use TVDB. I see you just commented so the Alternate Title query info is not used at all?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 But I guess as you mentioned a value is returned via zh-cn so there is no way to know it is an incorrect value to fallback to something else. So if the value was blank it would be do able. So a defect in the way TMDB is handling Name as it should be blank per translation page. A issue should be raise with TMDB about why their api returns a name for zh-cn if site does not show one.

If they left the name field empty then that would be one way, but they're not doing that.

Their website is most likely making it's own direct calls to their database and not using the api.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 (edited) Yes mismatching information doesn't help but since info is returned by default there is nothing that can be done on Emby side. Edited August 25, 2024 by Happy2Play 1
